without immediately turning the monsters into pets.” Jacques Derrida

LatroLatroThe Latro (Latro Limus) are the smallest living monsters of the Virosus family and are found in damp and shady places such as caves.

BehaviorLatro are herbivorous and feed mostly on moss. They are not aggres-sive unless provoked and are extremely anxious, this causes them to hide for most of their life. They reproduce by shedding their slime. The newborn Latro is only 1cm tall and it’s eyes are still too small to spot but in 10-14 months the monster will be fully grown. The adult latro is about 8-10 cm long and and 6 cm wide. They are completely made of opaque slime and have multiple red eyes that be-come infected upon birth, therefor they cannot see through them. Be-cause their slime is made out of a variety of mild acids contact with the skin can leave first degree burns.

ExpiluExpiluExpilu are predatory arthropod creatures of the order Scorpio within the class Venenatis. They have four legs and have 2 venomous front teeth. It’s three stingers are not poisonous. Expilu range in size from 1 to 10 cm. Their green legs darken as they age and by the time the Expilu are 10 years old they will be black.

BehaviorExpilu is a vary dangerous creature. It’s venom is poisonous enough to kill a small child. They Reproduce through parthenogenesis, a process in which unfertilised eggs develop into living embryos.Expilu prefer areas where the temperatures range from 20 to 37 °C (68 to 99 °F), but may survive temperatures ranging from well below freezing to desert heat. They usually feed on the bones of rodents, but don’t hesitate to attack anything that comes their way. Expilu first bite their prey and inject a neurotoxic venom, they don’t eat anything of their prey besides the bones. They use their 3 stingers to rip open the flesh. For the past 5 years people have been hunting these monsters, now this the species is almost extinct. After an Expilu has died their venom is still very dangerous for 48 to 50 hours.

Expilu are best killed by dropping heave objects such as rocks on them. It is dangerous to approach them as their venom is strong enough to temporarily paralyze parts of your body. Another way to kill the creature is by setting them on fire.

PolipiPolipiThe Polipi is a cephalopod mollusc of the order Octopoda. Octopuses have two eyes and three arms and, like other cephalopods, they are bilaterally symmetric.

BehaviorThe polipi inhabits many diverse regions of the ocean, including coral reefs, pelagic waters, and the ocean floor. They have numerous strate-gies for defending themselves against predators.have a relatively short life expectancy, they live for as little as six months. Reproduction is a cause of death: males can only live for a few months after mating, and females die shortly after their eggs hatch. They neglect to eat during the one-month period spent taking care of their unhatched eggs, eventually dying of starvation.Polipi also have an excellent sense of touch. An their suction cups are equipped with chemoreceptors so the creature can taste what it is touching. Polipi eat mainly prawns, fish and other cephalopods. They usually inject their prey with a paralysing saliva before dismembering it into small pieces.

Unlike the octopus, polipi are not hunted to be eaten, because of their stale taste. Though they can be difficult to keep in captivity, some peo-ple keep polipi as pets. They often escape even from supposedly se-cure tanks, due to their problem-solving skills, mobility and lack of rigid structure. The best way to capture them is by using nets.

QuatuorQuatuorQuatuorQuatuor are large biting flies that inhabit in sewers. They live by feeding on the blood of vertebrate animals, they cause human sleeping sickness and animal trypanosomiasis.Quatuor have been extensively studied because of their disease transmission.

BehaviorThese flies are multivoltine, typically producing about four generations yearly, and up to 31 generations total over their entire lifespan. The female lays her eggs as close to the food source as possible, and development is rapid, allowing the larvae to consume as much food as possible in a short period of time before transforming into adults. They are ovoviviparous, with the larvae hatching inside the mother. The creatures can be seen as independent individuals in two forms: as third instar larvae, and as adults. They first become separate from their mothers during the third larval instar, during which they have the typical appearance of maggots. This life stage is short, lasting at most a few hours, and is almost never observed outside of the laboratory. Quatuor are adapted for aerial movement and can withdraw their wings in their body, making them able to swim.

tondeotondeoTondeoTondeo are Polycephaly, a condition of having more than one head. They are generally covered with a thick exoskeleton, composed primarily of calcium carbonate, and armed with a single pair of chelae (claws). Tondeo are found in all of the world’s oceans, while many of them live in fresh water and on land, particularly in tropical regions. The creatures vary in size from a few millimetres wide to up to 50cm.

BehaviorTondeo do not have hemoglobin in their blood, but instead use hemocyanin to carry oxygen. Because of the copper present in hemocyanin, their blood is blue. They attract a mate through chemical, visual, acoustic or vibratory means. Pheromones are used under water, while on land the creatures often use visual signals, such as males waving their claws to attract females. They have internal fertilisation and mate belly-to-belly. Females can store the sperm for a long time before using it to fertilise their eggs. When fertilisation has taken place, the eggs are released onto the female’s abdomen, secured with a sticky material. In this location they are protected during embryonic development. Females carrying eggs are called “berried” since the eggs resemble round berries. It is the world’s most heavily fished species, with over 300,000 tonnes being caught annually, 98% of it off the coast of China.

AraneaeAraneaeAraneaeAraneae are air-breathing arthropods that have seven legs. Unlike spiders, Araneae don’t make webs or have venomous fangs.

BehviorAraneae are found worldwide on every continent except for Antarctica, and have become established in nearly every habitat with the exception of air and sea colonization. They are predators, mostly preying on insects, although they can also take birds or lizards. Araneae use a wide range of strategies to capture prey. Most common is mimicking the prey to avoid detection. They show signs of intelligence in their choice of tactics and ability to develop new ones.Male Araneae identify themselves by a variety of complex courtship rituals to avoid being eaten by the females. Males survive a few matings, limited mainly by their short life spans. Females care for their young, for example by carrying them around or by sharing food with them.

Araneae attack their prey by piercing their sharp legs through the body. The hairs on their body are actually soft spines to protect themselves.

IpsumIpsum Pretium Aenean Ipsum are rodents-like monsters belonging to the subfamily Leporidae. The subfamily contains about 5 species. They have light fur that varies in color depending on their tribe.

BehaviorIpsum are crepuscular and remain underground during the day to avoid being caught by predators. In the wild, they feed primarily on smaller animals and will occasionally eat burrowing insects, but they can also attack larger animals such as small dogs or cats. Ipsum tend to sleep during the day and are wide awake at night. Their habitats include mead-ows, woods, forests, grasslands, deserts and wetlands. Ipsum live in groups and more than half the world’s ipsum population resides in North America. They are also native to southwestern Europe, Southeast Asia, some islands of Japan, and in parts of Africa and South America. It has the ability to run at speeds approaching 50 kilometres per hour but their whirling eyes make it unable for them to run straight. They of-ten run into rocks or trees, this doesn’t cause them any harm because of their massive skulls.

Ipsum are best caught using traps, though there is nothing useful about them, their fur disintegrates after it is removed and their flesh is bitter and dry. It is hard to shoot Ipsum because of their speed and irregular paths.
