Dear Parents

Learning begins when the children arrive @ Kindy before 8.30 am.

Due to the Covid-19 safety measures, we have segmented our outdoor play areas into 4 zones and

the children play only with their friends from the same class.

Every morning, the children check the signboards to find out where

their play zones are.

These outdoor times are good opportunities for the children

to engage in cooperative play, learning to take turns, share and problem solve.

Also a good way to develop their social and communication skills.

With the open spaces available, the children are able to pick up new skills

e.g. cycle, scooter, play a game of catch, toss balls, etc.

Do have your children come in early.

Let them have fun and the opportunity to develop holistically.

We introduced the story of “Rapunzel” to the children.

The children were challenged to pass the ball to their friend by:

In a push-up position, the task was to throw the ribbons in their hoop into their friend’s hula hoop.

Those with the most hoops in each group would then

balance on one feet for 5 seconds while holding a funny pose.

Aesthetics (Cooking)

New experience for all – tried our hands at vegetable food art

Our attempts to create Rapunzel’s long tresses ….

What a pretty sight!

The children were visibly amused …

Rice ball for the face; black sesame seeds/a little veg for the facial features;

Strings of cucumber, carrots and omelette for the hair!

What we like about these cooking sessions besides the hands-on experiences

is that it arouses and provokes their curiosity with their “hows and whys” …

E.g. “How do you get the long strings of carrots and cucumber and omelette?”

“How to make the face with the rice?”
