The Monthly Newsletter of The Central Florida Metal Detecting Club November 2016 From The President’s Desk By Alan James Wow!! It’s mid November already! This hunt will take place at Sun Splash park beginning at 9:00AM in the morning. If you think back to last year, this was the month we had the infamous “Vegetable Hunt” and I can promise you that we will NOT be having that type of hunt anytime soon. The type of hunt we will be having is……….?? More details at the meeting. Several days ago, an icon of the local detecting family passed away. Deyton Peyton was 80 years young. Those of us who knew him were indeed blessed. He will be missed. The November meeting will be the last meeting of the year in which the finds tables will be displayed. Because December is the evening of the club Christmas party, the finds tables will be omitted. Don’t worry, at the January meeting, all of your finds after the November meeting until January will be judged so you’ll still get to display anything you like. Minelab has again stepped up and agreed to be one of the main sponsors for the Central Florida Sunshine Shootout & Relic Hunt. In addition to other items, Minelab will be providing 1- CTX 3030, 1- Excalibur II, 2- Go Find 20, and 1- Go Find 40 for a total of 5 Minelab detectors to be given away. The hunt will be held on April 1, 2017 at Moss Park and promises be the biggest and best so far. Get this one on your schedule for next year. Kellyco will be sending out a special information email in the next day or so regarding the Scout camp activities and how you may help out. I’ll see you at the next meeting. Alan

The Monthly Newsletter of The Central Florida Metal Detecting Club

November 2016

From The President’s Desk By Alan James

Wow!! It’s mid November already!

It’s time for me to mention something that I’m sure

you just can’t get enough of ……… Elections!

During the December meeting, one of the agenda

items will be the election of Central Florida Metal

Detecting club officers. If you have an interest in

running for any of the club offices, please make this

known to any one of us so we can get your name in

the hat. I am certain that any or all of the current

officers would be more than willing to step aside

and make way for new leadership.

On November 19th

, we will be holding

another club hunt. This hunt will take place at Sun

Splash park beginning at 9:00AM in the morning.

If you think back to last year, this was the month we

had the infamous “Vegetable Hunt” and I can

promise you that we will NOT be having that type

of hunt anytime soon. The type of hunt we will be

having is……….?? More details at the meeting.

Several days ago, an icon of the local

detecting family passed away. Deyton Peyton was

80 years young. Those of us who knew him were

indeed blessed. He will be missed.

The November meeting will be the last

meeting of the year in which the finds tables will be

displayed. Because December is the evening of the

club Christmas party, the finds tables will be

omitted. Don’t worry, at the January meeting, all of

your finds after the November meeting until

January will be judged so you’ll still get to display

anything you like.

Minelab has again stepped up and agreed to

be one of the main sponsors for the Central Florida

Sunshine Shootout & Relic Hunt. In addition to

other items, Minelab will be providing 1- CTX

3030, 1- Excalibur II, 2- Go Find 20, and 1- Go

Find 40 for a total of 5 Minelab detectors to be

given away. The hunt will be held on April 1, 2017

at Moss Park and promises be the biggest and best

so far. Get this one on your schedule for next year.

Kellyco will be sending out a special

information email in the next day or so regarding

the Scout camp activities and how you may help

out.

I’ll see you at the next meeting.
