From the Principal
Term Four has seen our students and teachers alike putting in a
great effort every day and making the most of the last term for
2017.
November will begin with a Curriculum Day for all students on
Friday 3rd November 2017. On this day our Outside of School

We then start the following week off on Monday 6th November
2017 with House Sports Day. Parents and friends are welcome to
attend. Don’t forget to wear your house colours.
Tuesday 7th November 2017 is Melbourne Cup Day. PCS and
OSHC will both be closed and we hope you all have a relaxing
time with your families.
After that we have, Foundies Learning by Doing, Year Four Silly
Science, Year Three Lego Land, Foundies Afternoon Tea, Year
One Coal Creek, PCS Fete, Year Four Camp, Year Six Movie ending
with the Year Two Coal Creek visit.
Get set for a great November.
Mondo Recycling
Thank you to everyone for bringing your goods to
our Mondo Recycling Drop off, we raised over
$150 for fundraising.
This program helps raise money for our school, reduces waste to
landfill, creates jobs and supports communities in developing
countries at the same time.

AMAZING EFFORT
Bandana Day
Kyana from Year Five has raised $1545 selling Bandanas
every morning to support ‘CanTeen Bandana Day’. As
Kyana sold out so quickly of bandanas, she decided to go
on the radio to ask if anyone out there had more boxes that
they hadn’t sold and wanted to donate so she could
continue her sales. The last two boxes were sold this
morning in record time.
What a great initiative taken on by Kyana herself and with the support
of all our family, friends, students and staff, it has led to an amazing
achievement.
Well done !!!!

Last week each family received a welcome letter in
order to access our new Parent Portal. We hope that
you have had the opportunity to log on to the portal
and have a look around. In order to make it as easy as
possible for you to use we would like to provide you
with some handy tips to make the most of this new
way of communication.
PCS Parent Portal
TIP 1: To message your child’s teacher
Click on Messages. Then click on New Message. Now select the correct information, type your message and click
send message.
TIP 2: Accessing your child’s dashboard
Click on your child’s photo. This will take you to the screen where you can check Teacher messages, class notices
and see detailed absence information.
TIP 3: To swap between children
Click on the name on the right hand corner of the dashboard.
Don’t forget you can also check and edit important family and medical information and the
weekly newsletters will be uploaded onto the portal. We highly recommend you check the
portal on a regular basis.
If you have any issues please do not hesitate to contact the school.
A reminder that on the alternative week to the whole school
newsletter each year level publishes their year level newsletter on
the school website. We strongly recommend you have a look at these
newsletters as they include specific year level news including photos
of all the learning and/or events that have occurred throughout the
fortnight. We are also going to provide QR codes in this newsletter
so all you will need to do is use a QR Reader app on you smartphone,
scan the QR code and it will take you straight to the newsletter link.
