I sincerely hope the break was great for you and your family despite us all being restricted in our travel opportunities. It was wonderful to hear from the children who were onsite over the last two days about their fun experiences (at home) and the rest they had over the holiday. I hope you too were able to find some time to be ready for a short term. Ive noticed how this term in the Riverina changes from the hot and dry days to be more chilly and gorgeous (including the cold nights and early morning frosts). As you start sending your children back to school you may find that they want a jacket in the morning and will come home in shirtsleeves. I want to encourage you to continually check names are on uniform items. I know it is upsetting when children have lost items of clothing and we will keep trying our best to return labelled items quickly. Dont forget I am trying to be as accommodating as possible regarding the uniform and I appreciate all you are doing in this area. Another wonderful encouragement to us all is to hear about the ways our students honoured ANZAC day across the region. Ive heard how they were respectful in standing at the end of their driveways or playing their trumpets, and I love that our students see this day as an important part of our country. I am appreciative too of the support offered by Mrs Rebekah Grant in her DSM role as this is also a fantastic service to our Defence families. I hope youre looking forward to a great term. Over the next week I will be sending home more information about our latest COVID plans and I hope we can all celebrate a return to normal life as soon as possible. Thank you for your part in it. Sincerely, Phillip Wilson Principal

Our ANZAC remembrance opportunities

From the Principal Welcome back to Term 2. I sincerely hope the break was great for you and your family despite us all being restricted in our travel opportunities. It was wonderful to hear from the children who were onsite over the last two days about their fun experiences (at home) and the rest they had over the holiday. I hope you too were able to find some time to be ready for a short term.

I’ve noticed how this term in the Riverina changes from the hot and dry days to be more chilly and gorgeous (including the cold nights and early morning frosts). As you start sending your children back to school you may find that they want a jacket in the morning and will come home in shirtsleeves. I want to encourage you to continually check names are on uniform items. I know it is upsetting when children have lost items of clothing and

we will keep trying our best to return labelled items quickly. Don’t forget I am trying to be as accommodating as possible regarding the uniform and I appreciate all you are doing in this area.

Another wonderful encouragement to us all is to hear about the ways our students honoured ANZAC day across the region. I’ve heard how they were respectful in standing at the end of their driveways or playing their trumpets, and I love that our students see this day as an important part of our country. I am appreciative too of the support offered by Mrs Rebekah Grant in her DSM role as this is also a fantastic service to our Defence families.

I hope you’re looking forward to a great term. Over the next week I will be sending home more information about our latest COVID plans and I hope we can all celebrate a return to normal life as soon as possible. Thank you for your part in it.

Sincerely, Phillip Wilson Principal

Thank you for joining the College in commemorating Anzac Day at home whether this was through driveway displays, individual instrument playing of the Last Post or The Rouse or standing with your family out of a mark of respect. It was a special moment for my family and I, as I am sure that it was for yours too.

What an honour it was to stand on our driveway at 6:00am, listening to the distant sound of the Last Post or The Rouse being played a few streets over. It was a great opportunity to take the time to respect and honour the men and women who have served and are continuing to serve our nation.

The holiday breaks are always busy around the College with essential maintenance work being undertaken when

limited students and staff are on the premises. This holiday break saw work done:

Finishing touches inside the new Preschool classrooms.

In the new Preschool playground. Developments include the creation of a riverbed.

Rejuvenation of garden between the Administration Block and Stage 3 classrooms. On your return have a

good look at the lovely retaining wall that is now a feature of this area.

Maintenance on the College oval, fertilising and keeping weeds at bay.

Ongoing mechanical and electrical work throughout buildings.

Replacement of all student toilets in Middle School, Junior School and Senior School.

Ongoing thorough cleaning of public spaces including carpet cleaning.

A big thank you to all the College maintenance and cleaning staff and for the contractors who have worked

across the College in recent months. A special mention to the gardeners who helped encourage the beautiful

roses we are now enjoying around the carpark.
