Welcome too to the more than 300 new students who have started here this year; 261 year 7s and about 80 who have joined across every other year level @ISH. We also have 18 new members of staff. Our newsletters keep you up to date with recent events and successes as well as preparing you for those just around the corner. School photos take place next Tuesday for example, and this will be a formal uniform day. The start of any year is a mixture of emotions, and this year was no different as the school community struggled to come to terms with the drowning death of one of our year 12 students, Duncan Wilmott. This is not the forum to go into details, and I’m sure most you will be aware of the story. A significant representative group of his friends, teachers and other school leaders will be attending his funeral on Friday, and I would like to commend the whole community for the support they have provided his family, and the way in which this terrible situation was managed, particularly at school. New families are invited to a Welcome Evening next Tuesday, and those with students in Year 11 and 12 should also attend on Wednesday Evening to prepare themselves to work in partnership with the school as their students head into the Senior phase of learning. Here @ISH you will hear and read a lot about partnerships, and Community Engagement is one of the three pillars of the school’s strategic plan for this year – the others are Reading and Quality Teaching. More about this in subsequent newsletters. Thank you for being part of our community for 2016. I look forward to meeting you in due course. School Invoice Payments (only)

What is BPoint?

BPoint is a new online payment facility which can be accessedby customers and parents via weblink,https://www.bpoint.com.au/Payments/dete . This link is on thebottom of invoices.

Payments made through BPoint require a valid invoicenumber and customer reference number (CRN) which arelocated on the bottom left hand side of our school invoices andstatements. It is important that this information is provided sothat the payment will be automatically matched to the invoice.

ISHS P & C AssociationAt our last P&C meeting the P&C discussed the parentcontribution we ask families to contribute.

We understand that finding even $25 per family can be difficulton the tight budgets most of us are on. So, instead we ask thatyou find just $5 per term and contribute it toward the P&C.With approximately 800 families in the school that’s $4000 perterm to help pay for extras.
