Fronius USA Standard 5-Year Warranty

The Fronius USA Standard 5-Year Warranty applies to the following products:

• Fronius CL Series Inverters: CL 33.3 / CL 36.0 / CL 44.4 / CL 48.0 / CL 55.5 / CL 60.0

Please contact your Fronius Authorized Distributor or Integrator. The purchase the Fronius USA Standard and

Extended 5, 10 or 15-Year Warranty must be done through your Solar Dealer or Installer whom will forward the

details to the Fronius Authorized Distributor or directly to Fronius if they are a direct account of Fronius.

Fronius Warranty Conditions

The Fronius Standard 10-Year Warranty and the Fronius Standard 5-Year Warranty come standard on the

solar inverter models shipped from Fronius in the models listed above. Fronius warranties offer the straight

forward protection and support that Fronius customers have come to expect from an industry leader.

The Fronius 5-Year, 10-Year and 15-Year Extended Warranties are available for purchase within 6 months of

purchase date, for a nominal investment, to increase the Fronius inverter warranty life to 10, 15 or 20 years.

Please contact your supplier to purchase a Fronius Extended Warranty and refer below for more information on

these products.

At Fronius, we have been designing and manufacturing high quality power electronics equipment for over 69

years. And all our production facilities are ISO 9001 certified. You will probably not encounter any service-

related issues with your Fronius Solar Inverter (Fronius IG, Fronius IG Plus, Fronius IG Plus V, Fronius IG Plus

Advanced, Fronius Galvo and Fronius CL models). However, in the unlikely event that you discover a problem

within your warranty term caused by defects in either workmanship or materials, we will see that it is either

repaired or replaced. Repair or replacement depends upon Fronius’ evaluation of the issue. The warranty is

based on the inverter’s serial number, allowing the warranty to be transferred to another owner if the Fronius

Solar Inverter remains installed in the original installation location. As the warranty is tied to the serial number,

there is no paperwork to transfer the warranty to a new owner.

The Fronius Solar Inverters are designed to withstand normal operating conditions and typical wear and tear

when the Fronius Solar Inverter is used for its original intent, in compliance with the local electrical codes, the

Fronius Installation and Operational Manual(s) supplied with the original equipment. This warranty does not

cover damages by improper installation or operation, misuse, abuse, manipulation, alterations or repair

attempts, accidents, fire, floods, force Majeure, and incidental or consequential damage caused by defects with

other components of the solar system. This warranty does not extend beyond the original cost of the Fronius

Solar Inverter.

Any Fronius inverter that requires a warranty replacement within 90 days of shipping from Fronius will be

replaced by Fronius with a brand new inverter as standard policy.

Conditions, Limitations, and Process Overview:

1. All terms and conditions of warranties are the same as the Fronius USA Standard 10-Year Warranty with

the warranty terms increased to 15 years on the 5-Year Extended Warranty and 20 years on the 10-Year

Extended Warranty for the Fronius IG, Fronius IG Plus, Fronius IG Plus V, Fronius Galvo and Fronius IG Plus

Advanced inverters. All terms and conditions of warranty are the same as the Fronius USA Standard 5-Year

Warranty with the warranty terms increased to 10 years on the 5-Year Extended Warranty and 20 years on the

15-Year Extended Warranty for the Fronius CL Series inverters.

2. The Extended Warranty must be purchased through a Fronius Authorized Distributor or Integrator within 180

Days or 6 months of shipping from Fronius with proof of purchase (i.e. invoice with model type and serial

number).

3. Solar System owners and end users cannot purchase the Extended Warranty directly from Fronius.

4. The purchase order from the Fronius Authorized Distributor or Integrator must clearly detail the inverter

model, serial number, warranty part number and the email address of the system owner in order to forward the

warranty certificate. In absence of an email address for the system owner, this will be emailed to the Fronius

Authorized Distributor or Integrator.

The Fronius Gold Quality Guarantee program is designed to solidify customer confidence in Fronius products by guaranteeing the highest level of quality and service support available to all customers. The Fronius Gold Quality Guarantee applies to all Fronius inverters.

Features of the Gold Quality Guarantee: 15-year and 20-year product & service warranty All customers will have the option to purchase an additional 5-year or 10-year warranty extension on Fronius IG, Fronius IG Plus, Fronius IG Plus V, Fronius IG Plus Advanced, and Fronius Galvo inverters, and a 5 or 15 year

warranty extension for the Fronius CL inverter, bringing the total warranty life to 15 or 20 years. The warranty

extension extends the duration of the warranty while featuring the same provisions found in the standard

warranties. The 15-year and 20-year warranties are intended to emphasize Fronius’ long-term commitment to our customers. Not only do we build our products to last, but in the unlikely event that something does happen, we will be there to cover it. The 15-year and 20-year warranties must be purchased through a Fronius Authorized Distributor or Integrator within 180 Days or 6 months of shipping from Fronius. The extended warranties offer the same features as the 10-year standard warranty, including: • A paperless RMA process tracked by the serial number, not the owner. • Shipping costs covered both ways. • Pre-shipping of replacement inverters – no waiting for us to receive the old inverter. • No warranty exclusions for corrosion and biological infestation. • Replacement Parts during Warranty Period: when devices or components are replaced, the remaining warranty period will be transferred to the replacement device or component. If the remaining warranty period is less than one year, the replacement part will automatically receive a 12 month warranty period.

At our ISO 9001 certified production plants, we make only high quality products that we stand behind. You will probably not encounter a problem with your Fronius DatCom components, but in the unlikely event that within 2 years from the original purchase, you discover a problem caused by defects in either workmanship or materials, we will be happy to see that it is repaired or replaced depending on what we decide would be best. This warranty is transferable when the Fronius DatCom components remains installed in the original location at the time of purchase. The Fronius DatCom components are designed to withstand normal wear and tear, but they are not indestructible. Our warranty cannot cover damages by improper installation, use or operation, abuse, manipulation, alterations or repair attempts, accidents, fire, floods or force majeure and incidental or consequential damage caused by defects with other components of the solar system. This agreement hereby acknowledges that any replacement inverter or product delivered by Fronius USA from a service call, are used solely for the service call for which they were intended. This service call can only be generated via telephone request to Fronius Tech Support. This agreement confirms the acknowledgment of the Fronius Warranty Terms and Conditions, and expressly acknowledges consent to the provisions contained therein. The Fronius Solar Inverters are designed to withstand normal operating conditions and ordinary wear and tear when the

Fronius Solar Inverter is used for its original intent, in compliance with the local electrical codes, the Fronius Installation

and Operational Manual(s) supplied with the original equipment. This warranty does not cover damages by improper

installation or operation, misuse, abuse, manipulation, alterations or repair attempts, accidents, fire, floods, force

Majeure, and incidental or consequential damage caused by defects with other components of a solar system.

No Service Reimbursement will be paid until the warranty claim has been validated. If Fronius USA determines the failure was due to circumstances outside of the scope of ordinary operating conditions, in order to proceed the account listed on this agreement will be charged for repairs and/or services. If the warranty claim is not validated and a customer wishes to proceed with the repair and/or services, all repairs and/or services performed will be charged to the account listed. Failure within 3 months of a new installation, Fronius will attempt to resolve the failure through the FSP program. In the event that the product cannot be repaired by FSP, Fronius will advance ship a new unit to the customer and no charge will be allocated to the customer provided that the failure was within the scope of the normal operating conditions. Failure after 3 months and up to the expiration of the warranty period, Fronius will attempt to resolve the failure through the FSP program. In the event that the product cannot be repaired by FSP, Fronius will advance ship a refurbished unit to the customer provided that the failure was within the scope of the normal operating conditions. Warranty Period for Parts on an Expired Warranty or a Non-Warranty claim: All replacement parts have a 12 month warranty period after shipment from Fronius USA if the original product is not under warranty. Replacement Parts during Warranty Period: when devices or components are replaced, the remaining warranty period

will be transferred to the replacement device or component. If the remaining warranty period is less than one year, the

replacement part will automatically receive a 12 month warranty period.

Fronius Process for Warranty Returns and Service Repairs:

Obtain a Returned Merchandise Authorization (RMA) and/or Service Authorization (SA)

All returned Fronius Solar Inverters and DATCOM require an RMA or SA.

Call Fronius USA Technical Support at 877-FRONIUS to obtain an RMA or SA.

Technical Support is available Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm C.S.T.

NOTE: There is no paperwork involved on the part of the installer to obtain an RMA or SA as all information required will be obtained during the phone call.

> Step 1 – Contact an authorized Fronius Service Provider Contact an authorized Fronius Service Provider to evaluate and troubleshoot the issue while the inverter is in the field, as many problems can be resolved on site.

> Step 2 – Trouble Shooting In the Field The FSP provider will contact a Fronius Technical Support Representative at 877-FRONIUS to evaluate and troubleshoot the issue.

o If a product is shipped to Fronius without prior authorization by Fronius Technical Support and no defect is found after inspection by the Fronius Repair Center, an inspection fee of $250.00, as well as parts and transportation costs will be charged to the account listed on this agreement. A service reimbursement will not be paid in such cases.

o If trouble shooting does not fix the problem, the specific information will be required by the Technical Support Representative for the RMA/SA process. An account must be created in order to move forward with the RMA/SA process. To create an account the parties must sign and submit a completed this document, the Warranty Exchange Process Agreement, to Fronius USA.

After a record of this agreement is verified as being on file, the Fronius Technical Support Representative will collect the following information over the phone:

1. Model and Serial Number of the FRONIUS Product. 2. Detailed description of the problem including the Products diagnostic code(s). 3. Shipping address for the warranty replacement equipment. 4. Date of Purchase 5. Date of Installation 6. Date of Permission to Operate (the date the local utility department approved activation) 7. Fronius USA will ship all replacement product UPS ground. If expedited shipping is requested, the

shipping costs will be billed to the account listed on this agreement. Once the RMA\SA has been issued:

Fronius USA will ship a replacement inverter or part ahead to the installer or a prior specified preferred address. * Fronius USA will provide for UPS ground shipping. If expedited shipping is requested, the shipping costs will be billed to the account listed on this agreement.

Once the replacement inverter or part arrives, the installer must follow the “RETURNED PRODUCT INSTRUCTIONS” exactly, or the account listed on this agreement will be charged for the advanced shipp product.

RETURNED PRODUCT INSTRUCTIONS Fronius USA will advance ship a replacement part or product to the customer.

The packaging from the advanced shipped product should be used to return the failed product.

The advance shipment package will contain: 1. a pre-paid UPS return shipping tag 2. a Warranty Service Report

Instructions for Return o Both the UPS return shipping tag and the Warranty Service Report will be affixed to the

advance shipping package. o Complete the information on the Warranty Service Report before affixing it to the

product. If the serial number of the failed product does not match the RMA/SA please call

877-FRONIUS immediately. Apply the UPS tag to the box and call UPS for pick-up.

The defective inverter must be returned to Fronius USA within 30 days of receiving the replacement unit or a charge will be applied for the replacement. No service reimbursement will be issued until the product is returned.

Any credits issued, including the $250 service credit, will be credited to the account listed on this agreement.

If defective product is not returned within 30 days of receiving the replacement unit, the account listed on this agreement will be debited the amount of the replacement product.

Product not returned within 60 days of the advanced shipment will void the service

- An invoice for the replacement product will be mailed directly to the billing address listed on the

account. (example: 209/xxxxxx – replacement invoice)

- Once the defective product arrives at the Fronius service location, a credit note will be generated

eliminating the charges from the replacement invoice. (example. 240/xxxxxx – credit note)

o If the serial number of the product being returned to Fronius does not correspond with the serial number of the RMA/SA, Fronius USA retains the right to charge the account listed on this agreement for the advanced shipped product.

* Failure to follow these directions may result in charges being debited to the account listed in this agreement.

Warranty on Replacement Products Warranty periods are transferred to the replacement product once the replacement has shipped from Fronius. Warranty certificates will not be reissued. Payment of service reimbursements A service reimbursement comes due after the defective device has been received by the designated Fronius Repair Center and it has been assessed as a valid warranty claim. Other costs related to a service call Loss of yield and other costs incurred by the system operator while the solar power system is down are not covered by Fronius. Abandonment If a product is returned to Fronius USA for repair or maintenance and repeated attempts by Fronius USA to contact the installer or end user regarding the product have been made without success, the product will be considered abandoned after ninety (90) days of no contact and the product will become the property of Fronius USA, LLC. Damage caused by shipping or mishandling: Visually evident damage caused by shipping or mishandling is to be reported to the freight carrier within 24 hours. Shipping damage is the responsibility of the freight carrier, not Fronius, and should always be duly noted with the freight carrier prior to accepting and signing for the product. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state. Fronius USA, LLC General Terms and Conditions also apply.
