SCREENSHOTS

OF FRONT

COVER

BY SHANNON SLOYAN

I opened up Photoshop to

create my front cover as it

is essential to use when

editing my photos of my

model.

I used the paint bucket

tool to change the colour

of the background to

become a shade of green

which is more of a mint

colour. It is not a bright

green but it is eye-

catching.

Next, I added my

masthead. I used the text

tool and changed the font

size to 150 and the style to forte. But then I decided

to change the font style

so that it is similar to the

billboard masthead. I

altered the font to make it

become Arial. I dragged

both sides of the text to

make the masthead wide

as possible to fit across

the page.

After that, I added the text

that will be on my front

cover. The colours of the

text go really well with the

mint, it is white and a

mauve / light pink colour.

The font size is 25 and the

style is the same as the

masthead.

Then, I added the text above the masthead with the font of 18.

After that, I typed the website of my magazine and ‘music life style’. I also placed a barcode below with the price tag above the barcode of the magazine.

The photo of my friend Olivia is going to be used on

my front cover. I made her do a certain pose as it

makes her looks as though she is a professional

model on my front cover as it is all about a new pop

star named ‘Olivia Davis’.

In the screenshot on the right, I have used the tool

rubber to erase the background as you can see from

the photo on the left. There is quite a lot going on so

I decided to get rid of it.

I dragged the edited photo of Olivia onto the cover.

After that, I enlarged the image by going to edit,

then transform and clicked on scale which helped

me to make the photo bigger. Finally, I moved the

layer of the image to make it come in front of the

masthead because that makes my magazine look

more professional.

I moved the barcode to the bottom right of the page as I thought it looked

more suitable there. I added text saying ‘OLIVIA DAVIS’ in the font Gills

Sans MT Ext Condensed Bold and the font size is 85. ‘The making of a 21st

century popstar’ is the same font as the text above it but the font size is

30.11. BOTTOM NEAR BARCODE AND PUFF: 25 FESTVIALS THAT WILL

BLOW YOUR MIND! MUST COMPLETE TOMORROW!
