 Vol. 129 No. 38 Friday, November 25, 2011 www.minnedosatribune.com 90 cents + tax Minnedosa, Manitoba Canada R0J 1E0 By DARRYL HOLYK  A pproximately one hour ater a man and  woman were killed in a collision on Highway #5 north o Neepawa, last Friday, November 18th, Minnedosa Fire Depart- ment was called to a single-vehicle accident on the by-pass west o Minnedosa.  A southbound Dodge truck lost control ater hitting an icy patch on the Little Saskatchewan River Bridge at the curve east o the intersection o PR #355. his caused the  vehicle to slam into the east cable guardrail just south o the bridge. Ater hitting the guard rail, the truck became entangled in the cables with two o the cables ending up on the inside o the rear pas- senger tire.  Ater removing the tire, local ireighters,  with the assistance o Pat Ritchie and his tow truck rom Minnedosa  Auto Wreckers were able to release the truck rom the guardrail cables. Al- though the truck received minor damage in the in- cident, ortunately, both occupants o the truck  were uninjured. T is year there are eight mens’ rinks that play on Monday and Wednesday and ten ladies’ rinks that play on T ursday nights. Tere are also eight mixed rinks on Friday nights as well as ater school Mon- day curling or the high school and junior high curling begins next uesday and T ursday. In total, about 175 curlers are enjoying the Minnedosa Complex. “We’re o to a very good start, ” agreed Jean Garbolinsky. Tis year Minnedosa is hosting the Junior Girls Provincial Championship in the rst week o January. “T at’s very exciting . It involves a lot o volunteers in the club and brings them closer together and allows us to generate a bit o income.” Hopeully Minnedosa’s Junior Girls team o Jennier Curle, Gillian Lewis, Paxton John- son, and Hailey Surovy will be able to represent this zone,  which would dra w a large crowd to Minnedosa. T e girls are going to Regionals to qualiy rom December 2nd- 4th. wo weeks ago they played their rst bonspiel in St. Anne’s and this past weekend were invited to a new, high prole junior bonspiel hosted by Sunlie Financial in Brandon.
