PROBLEM• Insufficient housing: Over 1,000
neighbours on waiting list (Waiting period: 7 years)• Inadequate support: Lack of
community housing and support for persons with mental health challenges increases pressure on hospitals already facing bed shortages and gridlock. Individuals who can access hospital do not get comprehensive supports.
FCMHAS has supports but no housing units.
