SUGARLOAF STABLESIt was really quite a gamble, to travel to Europe and try to pick the mares that would produce stars for Australian competitors, but we were extremely lucky when we found Anouk, by the world’s number one stallion, Jazz. Lucky because after we had her safely in Australia, her son Fellini was licensed by the KWPN and we would never have been able to acquire her then. We then thought long and hard about the perfect stallions to use in our breeding program, and selected Bluefields Floreno and Fürst Fugger. Bluefields Floreno is by the double world champion, Florencio, out of a Rubinstein / Donnerhall mare. Floreno has been starring in Prix St Georges and looks sure to go Grand Prix. WATERVIEW PARKThis season Waterview Park is offering some of the performance world’s most exciting sires. There is even a chance that the great jumping stallion, Glock’s London (Nabab de Rêve / Chin Chin) will be available if the testing results prove positive. Better known in his jumping career as Eurocommerce London, the chestnut stallion was second at the London Olympics (and became one of those rare creatures – a horse named for a Games that actually gets there).
