Fruit Salad Upset Your kids will love this game! Not only will they get to know their fruits better, but it will help them with their numbers too. For this game, you will need to cut out and laminate the pictures of fruit, as well as the numbers, found on the following pages. You will also want to laminate the "Fruit Salad Upset" chart. The only thing left to gather is some kind of plastic salad bowel that will hold your "fruit". Finally, display the fruit cards on a table or pocket chart and place the numbers in a bucket. Tell the children you need their help in making a fruit salad. Explain that a fruit salad is yummy and very good for you. God gave us all sorts of different fruit. He also gave us the Fruit of the Spirit which is really good for you too. Ask a child to come up and pick a number out of the bucket. He should look at the number, show it to the rest of the children and then look on the "Fruit Salad Upset" chart to see which fruit matches the number. He then goes to the pocket chart and picks off the matching fruit card and then drops it into the salad bowel. The number card he chose is set to the side and his turn is over. The game continues until someone picks the number ten. If this happens, you shout, "Fruit Salad Upset!" and pop the bowel so that the fruit cards go flying out. The kids will love the surprise element. Ask the children to gather all the fruit cards and place them back on the pocket chart. Play the game all over again. See if you can make a whole fruit salad before you reach 10! !!
