INTEGRATION

Sentence Pattern

Kinds of Sentence

Structure of Sentence

Sentence

Content and experiences are arranged in a hierarchical order.

Everything is integrated and interconnected

During one of my observations, the teacher discussed about tenses of verbs. She gave sample sentences which contained verbs with the integration of the past, the present and future events. Somehow, she was able to integrate history as she gave sentences in the past with proper tense of verb. Also, she was able to integrate science when she gave sentences at present events. Furthermore, I think various subject areas were integrated in one setting. That’s how integration evolves.

My Analysis

There is a need to articulate the lessons from grade school to high school because

the lessons in grade school which are basics will serve as the foundation of learning the

lessons in high school. Simply means that learners cannot understand the complex

lessons without learning first the simpler lessons or the basic. The backbone of learning

higher or advanced grammar is learning first the basics of grammar. Articulation does not

mean repeating lessons all over again with the same content, but repeating lessons with

integration of deeper learning theories needed to add the learning of the learners.

Somehow it’s synonymous with every process since a process needs to be step by step in

order to fully understand a concept. Again, in order to understand higher topics, one must

undergo first the basic of a certain subject area or a topic.

My Reflections/ My Analysis

As a teacher, I need to understand fully well the dimensions of curriculum design

because it’s my duty and responsibility as a teacher to perfectly engage my learners into

the best learning experiences in a form of teaching following the dimensions of

curriculum. Through understanding the dimensions of curriculum, I will be able to teach

well my learners- the insertion of values to all subject area, the repetition of contents but

getting more complex, the arrangement of contents from simpler ones to more complex

ones, and the inclusion of topics. I believe my teaching will be very good and effective

after learning and understanding the dimensions of curriculum. Really, the dimensions of

curriculum would be of great help to me when I will be in the field.
