Introduction
• Extraction is now recognized as being a key technology in FTTH save CAPEX Connect on demandAccelerate deployment
• So much that extraction is spread to various applications MDU, but also OSP Short / long extraction
• Complementary techniques to accelerate even more deployments Concept of the single splice Concept of floor routing with a single connection at the subscriber’s home Blown techniques
![Page 5: FTTH Conference 2011 Workshop MDU deployment acceleration Xavier Renard NEXANS](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061213/549720c4b47959744d8b51cc/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)

NeededFlexibility points
Flexibility at :
• Building basementNetwork interfaceConcentration pointCan have connectors
• Households / FlatsSubscriber interfaceConnector
• FloorSplice more suitable
(concentration point is at the basement)
![Page 6: FTTH Conference 2011 Workshop MDU deployment acceleration Xavier Renard NEXANS](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061213/549720c4b47959744d8b51cc/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)

Smart components& Single splice concept
![Page 7: FTTH Conference 2011 Workshop MDU deployment acceleration Xavier Renard NEXANS](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061213/549720c4b47959744d8b51cc/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
Slide 7Slide 7
Acceleration thanks tothe concept of the single splice
Preconnectorised cable installed in the opposite directions1. Preconnectorised
extraction cable (fan-out) deployed from the basement and installed in the basement box
2. Preconnectorised drop cable installed from the flat(reduced time where it is difficult to get appointment)
3. A single splice at the floor
splice

Smart products & packagingscontributes as well
Smart packaging :
Packaging that includes the terminal outlet & adapter+ preconnectorised drop cable + test report
The packaging is also an unrolling system(biodegradable after installation)
![Page 9: FTTH Conference 2011 Workshop MDU deployment acceleration Xavier Renard NEXANS](https://reader033.vdocument.in/reader033/viewer/2022061213/549720c4b47959744d8b51cc/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
Slide 9Slide 9
Smart subscriber Tetr@XS outlet :
The cable is pre-installed and fixed in the outlet (reduced risk)
But still the cable orientation is choosen on the field (without removing cable clamping)
The outlet is fixed without the need to open it (reduced installation time)

Conclusion
Benefits of extraction techniques Capex reduction of > 30%
Deployment on Demand
Accelerates deployment
Benefits of smart preconectorised products & packaging Improve the deployment acceleration
Very short interventions in the subscriber premises
Basic installation (no heavy skills)
Highly reliable (since done and tested in factory)
Allows single connection point
