Assemble the headboard and footboard support boards with wood glue and pocket hole screws. Drill pocket holes for

1-1/4” pocket hole screws on the plywood piece and 2-1/2” pocket hole screws on the 2 x 4 board.

Assemble two side frames with wood glue and 2-1/2” pocket hole screws. The center style is centered.

Assemble the frame upside down by attaching the headboard and

footboard supports to the side frames. Use 2-1/2” pocket hole screws in the

2 x material and use 1-1/4’ pocket hole screws in the plywood. The plywood does not extend all the way down

in this orientation. The 2 x boards are flush on top in this orientation.




Add the hidden center foot and four corner feet with wood glue and finish

nails. The corner feet are flush with the sides but overhang the front by 3/4” and

overhang the back by 2-1/2”.

Carefully flip the assembly over and add the center support with

wood glue and 1-1/4” pocket hole screws. There should be screws going into each end as well as the lower center support

Measure and determine the exact sizes for the two mattress support frames. Cut and assemble these pieces with wood glue and 2-1/2”

pocket hole screws. The center 2x4 is centered and the 2 x 2 boards are

centered in the remaining space.




Attach the mattress support frames with wood glue and finish nails through the headboard and footboard piece. Then predrill and use 2-1/2” screws to secure them

to the side frames and interior plywood support. These should be flush with the interior plywood and 3/4” below the top of the

side frames.

Attach the footboard boards with wood glue and finish nails starting with the outside vertical

boards. Then cut and install the interior three boards. These

will completely cover up the plywood and the pocket holes.

Attach the four1 x 2 drawer guides to the inside

faces of the headboard and footboard plywood panels with wood glue

and finish nails and attach the center 2 x 2 drawer

guides with wood glue and 2-1/2” wood screws




Assemble the drawers by first attaching the front and back pieces to the sides with wood glue and 1-1/4” pocket hole screws. Then use glue and finish nails to attach the

bottom panel.

Make sure the drawers properly fit and attach the

drawer front with wood glue and finish nails from the inside.

Add all four drawers and install any drawer pulls you wish to use.




Drill six pocket holes for 2-1/5” pocket holes on lower 10-1/2” of the inside faces of the headboard posts. Then attach the headboard slats to the side posts only with

wood glue and 1-1/4” pocket hole screws so that the front faces

are flush starting from the top and working your way down.

Drill pocket holes for 1-1/4” pocket hole screws on the top of the slat braces to attach the top board of the headboard later. Then use glue and finish nails to attach the braces directly to the back of the slats to hold everything together. Attach the top board with 1-1/4” pocket hole

screws through the braces and with 2-1/2” wood screws through the top

and into each leg on the ends.




Attach the headboard to the platform assembly with 2-1/2” pocket hole screws through the lower part of the legs.

At this point the plywood mattress panels can be installed. That’s it! Sand

and finish as you wish. Add your mattress and make it unique! If you
