Dear Family,
Today, your child began a new theme in church school, “God KeepsPromises.” The four lessons in this unit focus on Noah, Abraham andSarah, the birth of Isaac, and Isaac and Rebekah.
The unit features a fun game called Trivi-Oh! Children will be collect-ing trading cards for each correct answer the group gives to Trivi-Oh!questions. To make sure trading cards don’t get lost, the children willkeep them at church school until the unit is over in four weeks. Theywill be taking home a set of Trivi-Oh! question cards each week, soyou and your child can review the questions.
Please pray for us as we study and celebrate God’s promises.
Sincerely,

Noah’s RapGod made every beast and bird, the
world was mighty nice—filled it up with plants and trees, rabbits,
wolves, and mice.God made the people too—and blessed
them every one.“It is good,” said God. The world had
begun.(Children repeat last line)
But oh! It wasn’t long before the peopledisobeyed.
They made a mess of the world thatGod our Father made.
Only Noah’s family followed God’sgood plan.
So God said, “That’s enough. It’s timeto clean the world again.”
(Children repeat last line)
God called Mr. Noah, and told him ofthe plan,
said, “Don’t you worry, I’ll save you andyour clan.
I want you to obey me. I’ll tell you whatto do:
I want you to build me a giant floatingzoo.”
(Children repeat last line)
Then Noah got to work and built agreat big ark—
big enough for all of the animals topark.
Two of each went in the ark with Noahand his clan.
Then down came the rain, and themighty flood began.
(Children repeat last line)
For forty days and forty nights the raincame pouring down,
covered up the villages, the cities, andthe towns.
Water all around the boat, but inside itwas dry,
God saved Noah’s family from theweeping sky.
(Children repeat last line)
Then God sent a dry wind. No rain fellfrom the sky.
Noah threw the windows wide to let araven fly.
Then twice he let a dove fly out. Onebrought back a leaf.
“The land is dry,” said Noah, andcheered with glad relief.
(Children repeat last line)
“Open wide the doors and let us all getout!”
Noah told his family, with a happyshout.
Out walked the beaver, the oxen, andthe rest,
out into a brand-new world that Godhad surely blessed.
(Children repeat last line)
Noah built an altar and knelt upon theground.
He thanked our God for keeping hisfamily safe and sound.
“I’ll promise something, Noah,” saidGod right there and then.
“I’ll never send a flood to wreck thewhole wide earth again.”
(Children repeat last line)
Then God sent a special sign; Godhung it in the sky—
a rainbow to remind us that God isstanding by,
that God will care for each of us—each woman, child, and man—
and God will never wreck the wholeworld with a flood again.
(Children repeat last line)
