Ask if they took field trips in Elementary School & where? Middle School & where? High School & where? College & where?

Interactive Virtual Field TripsThe Virtual Field Trip (VFT) offers an opportunity for your class to participate in a close-up, two-way videoconference with an expert, a museum, or a vendor to learn and explore in a new and unique way.

who has done a VFT before? Where did you go? How did your kids like it?

What does this look like?

Teacher TestimonialMolly,We had the rock VFT this morning. It was good. They sent a huge box of specimens. The kids were in groups of 3-4 and each had samples to handle and examine. I wish you could have seen the presenter. She was probably in her 50's with a big gray mohawk. She was engaging and the kids liked her. Thanks so much!!Jana (Orchard-Clearwater Schools)

The Value of the Virtual Field TripSaves time and moneyYou dont have to be the expert in everythingTakes kids where they wouldnt normally get to goEngages studentsExpands students interestsShowcases careers

You dont have to leave school, no gas or lunch money! Sometimes it is just a regular teacher that has become the HAL instructor. Kids (families) dont get to go places like they once did.

Field trips provide students with a window to the real world that they don't get in the classroom, and they can help students understand real-world applications of seemingly abstract topics in math and science. For example, engineers may often use formulas taught in Algebra II, calculus, and chemistry classes.
