We use two types of draught proo�ng systems for our full window refurbishments. For older traditional sash windows gaps can vary greatly. REDDIPILE is the best option for these windows and comes in varying sizes & shades to �t even the widest gaps in windows. For sash windows that are newer and in better condition we use WEATHERSEALS. Both systems produce excellent draught proo�ng results.

Sash windows have a small gap around the windows to allow the

sashes to slide past each other and operate smoothly. It is this gap

that causes some problems associated with sash windows, such as

draughts, rattles, dust ingress and reduced energy ef�ciency. By

installing we can draught-proof your sash REDDIPILE or WEATHERSEALS

windows and eliminate these problems without effecting operation or

looks.

Draught proo�ng your windows involves routing out a groove on the

mid and bottom rail of the lower window, A pile carrier is then

inserted into the groove followed by the correct size of Reddipile or

Weatherseal into the carrier. New baton rods and parting beads are

�tted with pre-�tted Reddiplie. Or original baton rods can be routed

to take our draught proo�ng.

We can also carry out draught proo�ng on front and back doors, to

ensure your home stays warmer through the winter. These areas are

prone to heat loss, especially in older buildings.

REDDIPILE draughtproo�ng including 5.5mm, 8.5mm and 11.5mm Reddipile is recommended for use in most sash windows also Grade I and II listed buildings. Reddipile provides extra draught resistance.

WEATHERSEALS: This seal is ideal for sash and casement windows and it can be used on the top or bottom of sashes if required. It is UV stable and easy to clean and maintain. The Weatherseal is available in two heights: 10mm & 12mm.

The paint �nish of your newly refurbished windows is very important, not just for the look and how it �ts into your property, but it also impacts the longevity of your windows. The paint protects the timber and if it is not correctly applied or if the correct paint is not used, your investment in your double glaze upgrade will not last long. Another consideration is a paints impact on our environment. All paints we apply to windows are carefully chosen ensuring the highest quality �nish and maximum protection and that will have little impact on the environment.

Our painters are highly experienced and are regularly tested and trained to ensure that they are �nishing to the highest standard. We apply 3 to 4 coats of paint, depending on the condition of windows, to all our double glaze upgrades, one preservative primer to new timber, one primer to new and bare timber an undercoat and �nally the high gloss topcoat. A further high gloss topcoat can be applied if required.

Our standard paint finish for exterior work on double glaze upgrades is Dulux Weathersheild Exterior 3 Part Microporous Paint System, oil or water based. We have vigorously tested these paints over the years to ensure their suitability. For the interior we use Dulux Ecosure, or a paint brand of your choice, that provides an excellent tough durable finish. Available in ma�, sa�n or gloss. Both interior and exterior water based paints are low VOC and eco friendly paints.

and peeling that will last many years maintenance-free

The Easy Clean System, sometimes referred to as the Simplex System, is a very simple way of allowing access to the outside of your sash windows, where the �ttings allow you to open the bottom sash like a door, allowing for straightforward maintenance and cleaning.
