Since it’s inception around 2006, ISIS has carried out many atrocious acts, from murdering two innocent American journalist to recently beheading 21 Egyptian christians. They do not have a minimum age for sex slaves. They burned a Jordanian pilot alive after he was shot down by the Islamic group. The have released countless videos of beheadings to the public to show that they are to be feared. In early 2015, ISIS released videos showing the apparent murders of two Japanese hostages. Between June and November 2014 alone, 1500 people have been executed by ISIS, consisting mostly of innocent civilians. Can we let these acts of horror continue simply because we are not directly affected? The answer, we believe, is no. The United States of America must take action by not only sending airstrikes, but also foot troops to intervene and combat the problem. First of all, in order to achieve world peace, we must help cease the destruction of the Middle east. According to commondreams.org “[ISIS’] forces are growing larger as you have more recruits [joining ISIS]. Some estimate that they have 1,000 recruits every month in Syria. And Iraq — they are expanding in Libya and many other al Qaeda affiliate organizations have announced their allegiance to ISIS." ISIS is increasing their support and resources, potentially leading to even more dramatic damage and harm. As a result, we can not continue our current plan of action but rather step up to meet ISIS at the same level of intensity in order to defeat them. Even though the U.S. government HAS sent in air strikes, it is enough and they should support their attacks with foot troops. The fall of Rimadi marks the second time a major city has fallen to ISIS in the last year. Airstrikes simply have not done enough to root out the problem. Fox News questions Obama’s decision of withdrawing all the troops in 2011” and "everything" is the result of the "big mistake" of the U.S. not leaving 10,000 troops behind in Iraq after 2011. As the Brookings Institute states, “Strikes must work in tandem with advances on the ground, so forces can move in and occupy any territory from which ISIS withdraws.” Next, the U.S. should intervene in order to help middle eastern countries set aside their differences and unite to fight against the common enemy, ISIS. The Middle east has
