WHAT IS “UUC”?

Union University of California (UUC) is an online

Christian educational institution founded 30+

years ago. UUC is committed to overcoming

language, immobility and financial barriers and to

effectively prepare students who serve God in

their locations around the globe.

WHY A DOCTOR OF MINISTRY?

The program is designed for Graduates to increase

their ministerial competencies to a truly

professional level, to become experts in all skills

and competencies related to Christian ministry:

critical reflection, interpersonal skills, capacity for

theological interpretation, and special skills for

service in particular contexts.

WHAT WILL YOU GAIN?

By the end of the DMin program at UUC, YOU will

observed by independent thinking and the

ability to be flexible with diverse populations.

▪ Apply the biblical guiding principles that form

the values and outcomes of any ministry.

implement a biblically based response to meet

those needs.

▪ Integrate research, verbal and written

communication, and leadership skills to provide

a solution to a pressing missional opportunity.

resource for your local community, your nation, and

the world!

WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION?

The following are the minimum requirements for

admission to the Doctor of Ministry program:

1. A Master of Divinity degree or its equivalent

(MDiv-based), or a Master of a theology

and/or ministry nature (MT-based), e.g.

Master of Art in Ministry / Biblical Studies.

2. A cumulative 3.0 grade point average (4.0

scale) on the degree above.

3. A current position of active ministerial

leadership and at least three years of service

in parishes or other forms of ministry.

4. A demonstrated ability to write effectively and

to produce a written doctoral project as an

evidenced in a 6-10 page ministry reflection

paper called the DMin Application Essay.

5. Language requirements: Applicants whose

native language is not English and who have

not earned a degree from an appropriately

accredited institution where English is the

principle language of instruction must

demonstrate college-level proficiency in

English through one of the following:

▪ A minimum score of 550 on the paper-

based Test of English as a Foreign

Language (TOEFL PBT) or 80 on internet-

based Test (iBT), or

▪ A minimum score of 6.5 on the

International English Language Testing

System (IELTS), or

▪ A minimum score of 58 on the PTE

Academic Score Reports.

TIME TO DEGREE COMPLETION

The Doctor of Ministry program of UUC has

been specifically designed for full-time

ministers and leaders of Christian ministries.

Completion time for the programs depends

on the entry level of the student. Entering

with an MDiv, students average four years for

completion. Entering with an MTh, the

average time for completion is six years.

Courses are offered in four 10 week terms per

year (2 Terms per Semester).

PAYMENT PLAN

Students may choose to pay in full per term or

monthly payments as low as $100 per month.

But the student can graduate only after

paying all financial obligations in full.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

To qualify for graduation with the Doctor of Ministry degree the student must successfully fulfill all of the following requirements:

1. fulfill all DMin course requirements (36 units for MDiv-based track; 66 units for MT-based track);

2. maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale;

3. successfully complete the DMin Ministry Thesis; and

4. pay all tuition and fees.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Limited scholarships in the form of tuition

deductions are available to those who are in

special financial need.
