Fulton County Community Center OCTOBER 2018 The Golden Chronicle sponsored this month by First Federal Savings Bank One of the best things about living in Indiana, is the seasons are abso- lutely beautiful. I have to wonder if the colorful trees are Gods way of giving us his own fireworks display. Now is the time for carmel corn, gourds, pumpkins, and of course lots of apples. Everyone enjoys apple dumplings, applesauce, and apple pie. Campfires, sweat shirts, and foot- ball are here and sometimes we tend to not get out and do as much as we do in the summer months. As we head into the fall season its good to change gears and find ways to stay active and healthy despite the change in weather. We offer our exercise classes here at the center, come on in and enjoy with us. Our euchre group still plays on Tues and Wednesday, and is always looking for new players. And a warm lunch is served every- day by Area Five. I hope to see you soon. And dont forget Transpo for all your daily transportation needs. Need a ride to Walmart for some shopping? How about dinner at one of our local eateries? Need a ride to an appt or a grocery store? Transpo can get you where you want to go. The hours are 6:30 - 5:00 Monday - Fri- day. Our courteous and helpful drivers will assist you from our door to yours. A 24 hour notice is nice for local trips, advance notice is neces- sary for out of town trips. Try us out, you wont be sorry. We do between 150 and 200 rides a day. Our community is very fortunate to have Transpo, and there are so many people that makes it possible. Please remember, if you can help by giving to The United Way please do so. The Fulton County Council on Aging, Fulton County Transpo, and the Fulton County RSVP programs all benefit from local contributions. Our United Way Dollars help to make it possible for us to do things at the Center such as our Round Table Breakfasts, the newsletter and any spe- cial events. Your contributions to the local United Way are critical to agencies like ours. We appreciate the ways you support your local com- munity and thank you for your donations to the United Way. Georgia

One of the best things about living in Indiana, is the seasons are abso-lutely beautiful. I have to wonder if the colorful trees are Gods way of giving us his own fireworks display. Now is the time for carmel corn, gourds, pumpkins, and of course lots of apples. Everyone enjoys apple dumplings, applesauce, and apple pie. We offer our exercise classes here at the center, come on in and enjoy with us. Our euchre group still plays on Tues and Wednesday, and is always looking for new players. And a warm lunch is served every-day by Area Five. I hope to see you soon.

And don’t forget Transpo for all your daily transportation needs. Need a ride to Walmart for some shopping? How about dinner at one of our local eateries? Need a ride to an appt or a grocery store? Transpo can get you where you want to go. The hours are 6:30 - 5:00 Monday - Fri-day. Our courteous and helpful drivers will assist you from our door to yours. Apple Peanut Butter Snack Bars

Makes 9-16 bars, depending on what size you cut them

These gluten-free snack bars are made with wholesome ingredients and are great for after-school snacking or can be a healthy lunch box treat. To make them nut-free, simply use sunflower seed but-ter in place of the peanut butter.

2 cups rolled oats

1 cup shredded apple (one medium ap-ple)

1/4 cup peanut butter

1/2 cup honey

2 eggs

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9×9 baking dish and set aside.

Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and mix well. Transfer the mixture to the baking dish and use the back of a wooden spoon or a spatula to press it down evenly.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the edges are just barely browned. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.

OCTOBER 2018

The Golden Chronicle sponsored this month by First Federal Savings Bank

One of the best things about living in Indiana, is the seasons are abso-lutely beautiful. I have to wonder if the colorful trees are Gods way of giving us his own fireworks display. Now is the time for carmel corn, gourds, pumpkins, and of course lots of apples. Everyone enjoys apple dumplings, applesauce, and apple pie. Campfires, sweat shirts, and foot-ball are here and sometimes we tend to not get out and do as much as we do in the summer months. As we head into the fall season its good to change gears and find ways to stay active and healthy despite the change in weather. We offer our exercise classes here at the center, come on in and enjoy with us. Our euchre group still plays on Tues and Wednesday, and is always looking for new players.

A 24 hour notice is nice for local trips, advance notice is neces-sary for out of town trips. Try us out, you won’t be sorry.

Our United Way Dollars help to make it possible for us to do things at the Center such as our Round Table Breakfasts, the newsletter and any spe-cial events. Your contributions to the local United Way are critical to agencies like ours. We appreciate the ways you support your local com-munity and thank you for your donations to the United Way.
