California Baptist College (CBC) was founded in 1950 with an initial class of 42 students in El Monte, California. It became California Baptist University in 1998. 80% of the front lawn irrigation is provided by two wells on campus that tap into a local groundwater basin. The bronze mounted Lancer statue in front of the Events Center is 10 ft. tall and weighs over 4,000 lbs. Fans rub the front hoof before games in hopes of a Lancer victory. CBU has sent over 400 teams overseas to serve on short-term mission trips. Riverside was founded on the Citrus Industry. The Parent Navel Orange Tree still grows and produces oranges at the corner of Magnolia and Arlington Avenues. A) Front Lawn This stretch of expansive grass is competition ground for our annual Lancer Cup, the intramural soccer championship, and the Fortuna Bowl, the flag football championship. Students also enjoy afternoons studying or reading on the lawn. B) Annie Gabriel Library Meets the resource and information needs of our students, with over 100,000 print volumes and access to computers and online databases. C) Music Building Also known as the second home to every music student. This space boasts two recording studios, 51 Yamaha grand pianos, and 25 sound proof practice rooms. D) Health Science Campus This newly renovated facility includes a Speech- Language Pathology Clinical Education Center, x-ray machines, classroom space, and Foodology, a fast-casual dining option for students. E) Athletics Complex The center for Lancer Aquatics, Van Dyne Gym, James W. Totman Baseball Statium, John C. Funk Softball Stadium, Soccer field, and additional training facilities. F) College of Nursing Contains technologically versatile classrooms, full skill labs, and 7 simulation spaces, including a simulation clinic. We are 1 of only 5 universities in the state of CA that has a simulation accreditation. Tour Stops Student Housing Campus DiningPoints of Interest

1. Yeager CenterThe Yeager Center contains Admissions and other o�ces that support students. The Kugel, a giant marble globe sits as a central focal point in the middle of the Yeager Center, symbolizing CBU’s commitment to the Great Commission.

2. Stamps CourtyardAlso known as the heart of campus, this area connects classrooms in the James building, the Annie Gabriel Library, Wallace Theatre and several dining options. Here you will encounter highlights of the CBU experience, as students gather for club fairs, orchestra concerts and cultural events.

3. Business BuildingThis building is home to the Robert K Jabs School of Business as well as our Career Center, which provides helpful professional training through career fairs, mock interviews and resume workshops to both current students and alumni.

4. Engineering BuildingOne of our newest additions to campus, this 100,000 square foot collaborative space includes design labs, faculty o�ces, and a rooftop solar lab.

5. Lancer ArmsThis area houses Safety Services, Student Accounts, the International Center, and the O�ce of Student Success, where students can utilize free tutoring services. It also includes an upperclassmen apartment-style living area.

6. Events CenterHome to Division I CBU athletics, this space seats over 5,000 fans! In addition to supporting our athletes, Lancers gather here weekly for chapel, a time of worship and teaching from the Bible.

7. Recreation CenterThe Recreation Center promotes Lancer wellness by providing space for students and sta� to take advantage of personal training, group exercise classes and state-of-the-art exercise equipment.

8. Lancer PlazaFrom inside the gate, be sure to take a peek at Lancer Plaza, home to the Campus Store, Spiritual Life o�ce, Community Life Lounge, ASCBU, the Post, the O�ce of Leadership and Transitions as well as the popular dining spot, El Monte Grill.
