Do Something Different
Fun stuff
to
Hello and welcome to the fi rst of our three little books of fundraising inspiration.
In this book you’ll fi nd some fun ideas to help inspire you to Do Something Different for BBC Children in Need 2008.
Remember different doesn’t mean diffi cult or expensive, it just means doing something outside of your everyday routine to help raise money for disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.
Do Something Different at bbc.co.uk/pudsey
In the spirit of doing things differently, this year we’ve designed the Pudsey bandana for everyone to wear together with a brand new range of ‘I’m with Puds’ goodies, including t-shirts, badges, diaries, key rings and ooh lots of other great stuff!
And we’re not the only ones who’ve been busy, a little later in this book you’ll also fi nd some fantastic Pudsey goodies you can buy on the high street. So Do please read on.
For every penny you donate, a penny will go towards projects helping disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. We are able to make this promise because the charity uses its investment income to cover all operational costs.

That’s
the
way to
Do it!
Last year you and some of our famous friends helped raise an amazing total of £37 million for BBC Children in Need with a whole range of brilliant fundraising activities. For inspiration here are some ideas from last year:
Dustbin men in Bedford wore fancy dress while doing their round for a whole week.
Dogs at a doggy care centre in Hampshire were sponsored to swim laps of their swimming pool.
Students at colleges in the North West offered pampering sessions for £15, including a nail fi le and polish, facial, make-up, photo shoot and refreshments.
A photographic company in Kent organised a yummy mummies calendar featuring mums doing household chores while dressed in Hollywood glamour.
A spinning bike was ridden continuously for 80 hours with participants taking 30 minute shifts at a gym in N. Ireland.
Staff and Pupils at a school in Wales broke the record for the longest Human/ Teddy Bear Chain. Around 430 pupils took part!
Think you can Do it again this year?
We bet you’ll Do even better!
