Super synchronous mode or rated operational range: The stator windings supply about 80% of the electrical generator energy directly to the mains, along with the balance of about 20% which is routed vial the converter.

Sub-synchronous load or low-load range: Via it´s rotor the Concycle system supplies 100% of the energy fed into the grid plus an additional quantity which the converter feeds back into the rotor. Via the rotor the flip power is fed into the generator which serves for keeping output voltage frequency.

Synchronous operating point or partial load range: 100% of the electrical generator energy is supplied by the generator via the stator windings into the mains. The converter merely provides excitation for the generator vial the rotor. In this mode about 2/3 of the rated wind turbine power is converted to electrical engergy.

Precharging dc-link: The auxilliary contact is closing as soon the Windturbine operates within ist operating range. By means of the mainsvoltage which is now switched to the precharging unit the dc-link will be precharged up to 180V.

Precharging dc-link: With a voltage of at least 180V in the dc-link, the MSC now is activated and put the dc-link voltage pulse-width modualted to the rotor-coils in order to produce a rotating magnetic filed that in additional with the mechanical speed now causes statorvoltage of a certain frequency. The statorvoltage is fed back into the dc-link via the LSC reverse diodes.

Precharging dc-link: By means of the statorvoltage the dc-link is continously loaded until it´s value reaches a level above Ur x 1,35. Then, by activating the LSC, the dc-link voltage level is regulated to it´s nominal value of 1100 V by operating the LSC in the boost-converter mode. The precharging process is finished, the system is in standby-mode.
