But our rst country-specic forum event of 2008 brought together France’s biggest fund selectors to hear not only about the portfolios of a line-up of investment managers, but also the macro views of some leading gures in the nancial sector. Christian de Boissieu, a leading economist and professor at the Sorbonne, kicked off the event with his assessment of the macro picture – be- fore heading off for a lunch meeting with the French Prime Minister. Four portfolio managers, operating across a variety of asset classes, then stepped into the spotlight to outline their strategy and holdings before facing a cross-examination by delegates. To round off the event, one of France’s best- known fund managers, former CCR chief execu- tive Marc Renaud, offered his own thoughts on the current state of the market.

But our fi rst country-specifi c forum event of 2008 brought together France’s biggest fund selectors to hear not only about the portfolios of a line-up of investment managers, but also the macro views of some leading fi gures in the fi nancial sector.

Christian de Boissieu, a leading economist and

professor at the Sorbonne, kicked off the event with his assessment of the macro picture – be-fore heading off for a lunch meeting with the French Prime Minister.
