What does privacy mean to me?

Do public or domestic places have different privacy meanings?

How do these places provide us with the condition of privacy ?

How does furniture provide users with a specic degree of privacy ?

    Is privacy a luxury?

    YES!

This chair is designed based on my own experience as a young girl in the

reading room at my local library. Crafted with a rigid back and then coveredwith an easy to clean durable fabric over plush cushion. The chair would be

ideal forchildren. Because of the base, the chair can be rocked forward mak-

ing seating easy for young children.

This chair is based around the idea ofescape from the world. This would likely

be a limited production chair. The user can relax inside the curve of the chair.

The exterior walls would be made of recycled metal sheeting, with exposed

    assembly

    curve

The simplicity of a Pantone chair, a single piece of moulded plastic. The chair

would be ideal forparks. It could be purchased as an individual unit or as sev-

eral units, which are interlocking into several sections to allow for many people

to enjoy the chair. The material would lend itself for easy cleanup and allow for

it to be relatively inexpensive. Additionally it would be lightweight and make it

    easy for anyone to use.

    Fabrication

After making the rst model it became clear that the chair would require not onlyprecision, but also the design would best be represented with a different material. Isent a dwg le to cutlasercut and they were able to produce three models within 24hours.

    Potential Marketing Options

While the YO bench was created with the idea of public use in mind, it is also verypossible to market this design as residential furniture item. To do this I would con-nect with various design magazines and web sites to market my design to a greaterpopulation.
