MADISONPARISH PORT
IN MADISON PARISH, OUR MISSISSIPPI RIVEREXPERTISE GOES BACK THOUSANDS OF YEARS.
Thousands of years ago, Native Americans lived
in what is now Madison Parish. They relied on
the mighty Mississippi River for food, water and
transportation. Today, that’s still true. We’re proud
of our long history as river experts and even prouder
of what we’ve built today: A port that “has it all” for
business, from year-round deep water and end-of-
dock rail service to existing building availability and
266 acres of level land. Please explore our Port and
get to know us. We welcome your personal tour of
Madison Parish Port at any time.
PORT OVERVIEW
Madison Parish Port is located on the Mississippi
River in the northeast corner of Louisiana. The
Port comprises 266 acres with a host of blue chip
corporations working onsite at mile marker 457. It’s
the only port between Memphis and Baton Rouge
that offers deep-water access virtually year around
– a fact supported by active support from the U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers. Sitting on the deep side of
the river with an average depth of 20-feet, Madison
Parish Port delivers the performance you need to
move your products reliably and consistently.
FIRST-RATE RAIL SERVICE
Port functionality is a critical concern when you
select a Mississippi River port. Port-owned rail
operated by Delta Southern Rail road to transport
your products right to the end of the dock and

onto the river. On- and off-loading couldn’t be
easier and more economical. Our tracks connect
you to two Class 1 railroad companies: Kansas City
Southern for east-west transportation and Union
Pacific for movement north or south. Kansas City
Southern & Union Pacific link to the entire North
American rail system. Stevedore service is provided
by Terral River Services, which offers 70 years of
experience on the Mississippi River and regional
waterways.

fabrication. With financial incentives, tax exemptions
and abatements from the state of Louisiana, and
expertise from our partners at Louisiana Economic
Development and the Northeast Louisiana Economic
Alliance, Madison Parish Port can help put together
a monetary proposal to match our extraordinary
Port performance.
