In this context many communities, both rural and urban, are becoming increasingly vulnerable. Disparity and conflict along lines of gender, religion, ethnicity, age and race continue to add to the complexity of these issues. Now more than ever there is a need to foster professionals who are able to effectively engage with these multifaceted development issues and advocate for sustainable and innovative solutions.
