To promote the preservation, conservation and improvement of the natural resources and special places in Indian River County, Florida for the benefit of the general public and future generations.

Our Mission

Dear Friends, This past year the Indian River Land Trust made great strides towards improving our Indian River Lagoon. As our organization is nearing the milestone of permanently protecting 1,000 acres of environmentally sensitive lands along the Lagoon, we also have begun scientific studies and large-scale restoration work on some of our key coastal wetlands with an eye toward enhancing the abundant fisheries that once thrived in this region. Only five years ago no one imagined the Land Trust would be undertaking such extensive habitat restoration work which is critically important for improving the overall health of our Lagoon. The Indian River Land Trust is not doing this work alone – partnerships with local scientific institutions, other non-profit organizations, and state and federal agencies are part of our recipe for success of which your unwavering support is the main ingredient. The following pages of photographs capture our efforts this past year to achieve our vision for preserving the Lagoon. All these possibilities have been brought to life because of YOU. On behalf of the entire board and staff, thank you for your support! With your help, the Land Trust continues its meaningful work preserving and restoring important wildlife habitat, protecting our scenic waterfront, and providing public trails along our Lagoon.
