Clarit Avoid redundancy

The targeting ability of the micelles relies on the specific binding of folate

and FRs overexpressed on cancer cells. If too many folates are present,

the over-binding of the receptors may reduce the cellular uptake of the

drug. Figure 2 shows the drug uptake in cancer cells using micelles with

different folate contents. The drug uptake increased with more folate,peaked at 65% folate content, and decreased continuously at higher

folate content of 75%, 88% and 93%. Too many folate on the surface of

the micelles may facilitate the binding of a single micelle to multiple
