CONTINUOUS LEARNING FORPARENTS: GENERAL ADVICE
The College is open for students to attend in order to engage in Continuous Learning,
online, independently, and connected to all College platforms.
If you are at home with your daughter, please ensure she has breakfast and is dressed and
ready to learn for the day.
Have your daughter explain her plan and goals for the day.
Canvas is our Learning Management System and
our central hub for learning.
Ensure your daughter checks each of her Canvas
courses for when new learning activities become
available.
Use the Weekly Plan to see when this should
occur.
Your daughter's workspace should
be tidy, comfortable and as quiet as
possible.
If using a webcam, ensure your
daughter sits in front of a blank wall,
bookshelf or similar background.
Consider posture and position.
Students are to dress in neat
casual clothes or their school
uniform.
Year 12 Zoom meetings:
students are expected to
wear their College jersey over
their clothes.
Drink at least 2L of water per day.
Take breaks every 45-60 minutes. Stand and
stretch.
Have recess and lunch, eating healthy food.
Engage in some regular exercise.
Give your daughter the space and freedom
she needs to learn.
Support your daughter to establish a routine.
Prioritise the health you and your family.
Email [email protected] if
your daughter is unwell or otherwise unable
to engage in learning on a particular day.
Acknowledge she may learn differently to
you.
Check the Continuous Learning
Canvas course with your daughter
for updates each day.
Encourage your daughter to use
Canvas Discussion boards to ask
questions about courses, rather than
email teachers individually.
