Using your Sunbeam Kettle

Before using your kettleItisrecommendedthatyoucleanyourkettlebeforefirstusebyfillingthekettlewithwater,uptothemaximumlevelindicator,boilanddiscard.

Using your kettle1.Tofillthekettle,removeitfromthepower

baseandthelid.2.Fillthekettlewiththedesiredamountof

water.Alwaysfillthekettlebetweentheminimumandmaximummarks.

NOTE:Donotfillthekettleoverthemaximumlevel,aswatermayspilloutofthespoutwhenboiling.3.Replacethelid.4.Placethekettleonthepowerbase.

Connecttheplugintoa230/240VoltACpoweroutlet.TurnthepowerON.

5.TouchthePower/Boilbutton.Thebuttonleverwillilluminatetoindicatethekettleisheating.Thekettlewillswitchoffautomaticallyoncethewaterhasboiled.

IMPORTANT:Ensurethatthelidisfirmlyinplace.NOTE:Boilingcanbeinteruptedorcancelledatanytimesimplybyliftingthekettlefromthepowerbaseorpressingthebutton.6.Liftthekettlefromthepowerbaseand

Shouldyouaccidentallyallowthekettletooperatewithoutwater,boil-dryprotectionwillautomaticallyswitchitoff.Ifthisoccurs,allowthekettletocoolbeforefillingwithcoldwaterandre-boiling.

SafetyisamajorconsiderationinthedesignofaSunbeamkettle.Thisiswhywehavedevelopedour3-WaySafetySystem,whichensuresthatyourkettlewill:

1. Automatically switch off after boiling. Forconvenience,safetyandenergy

efficiency,yourSunbeamkettlewillautomaticallyswitchoffafterboiling.

2. Cut-out for boil-dry protection. Ifthekettleisoperatedwithoutwater,it

willautomaticallycut-out,preventinganydamagetotheelement.

Ifthisoccurs,allowthekettletocoolbeforefillingwithcoldwaterandre-boiling.

3. Shut-down in case of an electrical fault. Intheeventofanelectricalfault,the

kettlewillautomaticallyshutdowntopreventfurtherdamage.Shouldthisoccur,takeyourkettletoaSunbeamServiceCentreorAppointedServiceAgent.

Alwaysdisconnectthekettlefromthepoweroutletbeforecleaning.

IMPORTANT: Neverimmersethekettleswitchareaandbase,cordorpowerbaseinwater,orallowmoisturetocomeintocontactwiththeseparts.

Removal of mineral deposits Mineraldepositsintapwatermaycause

theinteriorofthekettleandthestainlesssteelheatingplatetodiscolour.Toremovethisbuild-up,useSunbeamLiquidDescaler,asimpletouse,non-toxiccleaneravailablefromSunbeamAppointedServiceAgents.

Alternatively:1.Fillthekettlewith1cupofwhitevinegar

andtheremainderwithwaterandallowtostandovernight.DONOTBOIL.

2.Emptythesolutionfromthekettle.Fillthekettlewithcleanwater,bringtoboilandthendiscardthewater.Repeatandthekettlewillthenbereadytouse.
