Your contribution will support rapid-response block grants to colleges and universities, enabling them to disperse much-needed funds directly to students. Supporting Texas students today through the COVID-19 pandemic Across Texas, hundreds of thousands of college students are affected by campus closures and job layoffs due to COVID-19 disruptions. Many are facing housing and food insecurity and are at high risk of dropping out. Emergency aid will help provide critical support to help students make ends meet and stay on track to graduate. The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, Texas Higher Education Foundation, Greater Texas Foundation, and Trellis Foundation launched the collaborative Texas Emergency Aid Grant Program to support students across Texas public and private non-profit higher education institutions during the COVID-19 crisis. These grants will complement the federal funds provided by the CARES Act and serve two purposes: Additional supports will also be provided to institutions through evidence-based technical assistance delivered by selected partner(s) to develop or improve capacity, infrastructure, policies and procedures for emergency aid programs. TEXAS EMERGENCY AID GRANT PROGRAM The goal of this public-private partnership is to raise up to $2 million to support as many of the state's public and private non-profit colleges and universities as possible. Building capacity at institutions Now more than ever, emergency aid programs provide critical support to help students with unforeseen expenses that may cause a loss of momentum toward academic success.
