Supporting Texas students today through the COVID-19 pandemic
Across Texas, hundreds of thousands of collegestudents are affected by campus closures and joblayoffs due to COVID-19 disruptions. Many arefacing housing and food insecurity and are at highrisk of dropping out.
Emergency aid will help provide critical support tohelp students make ends meet and stay on track tograduate.
The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board,Texas Higher Education Foundation, Greater TexasFoundation, and Trellis Foundation launched thecollaborative Texas Emergency Aid Grant Program tosupport students across Texas public and privatenon-profit higher education institutions during theCOVID-19 crisis.
These grants will complement the federal fundsprovided by the CARES Act and serve two purposes:
Additional supports will also be provided toinstitutions through evidence-based technicalassistance delivered by selected partner(s) to developor improve capacity, infrastructure, policies andprocedures for emergency aid programs.
TEXAS EMERGENCY AIDGRANT PROGRAM
The goal of this public-private partnership is toraise up to $2 million to support as many of thestate's public and private non-profit colleges anduniversities as possible.

Now more than ever, emergency aidprograms provide critical support to helpstudents with unforeseen expenses thatmay cause a loss of momentum toward
academic success.
