Friday May 12, 2017 4 DISTRICTS STATE TIMES NEWS DODA: In a tragic incident, two persons died while six other got injured when a vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into deep gorge near Sui Gwari area of district Doda, 20 KM from Doda town last night. According to reports, a Tata Sumo (JK14- 7864) was on its way from Pul-Doda to Prem- Nagar, when it reached near army camp Suigwari, driver lost control on the vehicle while negotiating a curve,vehicle skidded off the road and fell into deep gorge resulting in death of two passengers and injuries to six injured. After coming to know about the accident, Army personnel immediately rushed to the spot and along with locals rescued all the pas- sengers from ill fated vehicle and shifted them to District Hospital Doda where doctors declared two of them as brought dead. The deceased have been identified as Mohinder Singh (28) son Madhu Lal and Kamaljeet (25) son of Mohan Lal both res- idents of Dhara Doda. The injured have been identified as Surjeet Singh (20) Son of Romesh Kumar resident of Mohalla, Surinder Singh(35) son of Krishan Lal resident of Dhara , Bihari Lal (50) resident of Dhara, Ram Parshad (18) son of Jagdish Raj resident of Mahallah, Suresh Kumar (31) son of Hakem Singh resident of Shiva and Vishal (22) son of Swami Raj resident of Panshaie. Police has registered a case in this regard at Police Station Doda. STATE TIMES NEWS KATRA: Ranjit Singh Sambyal, SSP Railways Katra conducted the security review and checked the Railway track and infrastruc- ture provided to the manpow- er deployed enroute the track from Manwal to Sangar on Thursday. He was accompa- nied by SDPO Railways Udhampur and SHO Police Station GRP Manwal and other officers of GRP. The SSP passed necessary directions to the officers and officials to adopt advance security measures in order to ensure the safety and security of Railways System. SSP Railways Katra checked the manpower deployed at the Railway Stations Manwal and directed the SHO concerned to strengthen the Railway Station Manwal. He also took stock of the measures which are being taken by GRP per- sonnel for the safety and secu- rity of the railway track, tun- nels, culverts and Bridges. The total work of the said road is worth Rs 18 lakh and the length is 2 kilometers approx and is expected to be completed within two weeks time. Along with this roads several other roads including Banota Road, Railway Line Kotli Shah Doula- Baggamarh-Gagain Road, Salehar to Rathana Road, Darsopur to Tutrey road, Talli Morh to Nandpur Road are expected to be started within the span on one month.
