Preparing your computer

Downloading and installing the software

Step 1 Download your installation files to the same folder.

Step 2 Once downloaded, run gaia3d_setup.part1.exe.

Step 3 You will be presented with this screen, press Install.

Step 4 You will be presented by the Installer wizard.

Press Next to continue.

Step 5 Accept the License Agreement and Press Next to continue.

Step 6 Optional: If you wish to change where the software is installed, click Browse and choose a folder.

Press Next to proceed.

Step 7 Choose which shortcuts you wish to create and press Next.

Step 8 Choose where you wish to place the Start Menu Shortcuts and press Next.

Step 9 Choose which user you wish to install the software for and press Next.

Step 10 You are now ready to begin the installation, press Install.

Step 11 You can now leave the installer to finish.

Installing your graphics card drivers

Step 1 You will need to install the latest drivers for your graphics card.

On your desktop or start menu, right click Computer and choose Properties, then Click Device Manager.

Double click Display adapters to open the tab and display your graphics card.

Step 2 Open your web browser and visit: www.nvidia.co.uk/drivers

Step 3 Choose your graphics card from the list and press Search.

Step 4 Click Download

Step 5 Click Agree & Download.

Step 6 Once downloaded, run the graphics driver installer.

If you pressed Open when the download dialogue appeared, this is run automatically.

Step 7 Press OK

Step 8 Click AGREE AND CONTINUE

Step 9 Click Custom (Advanced) and then click Next.

Step 10 Check the button Perform a clean installation and then click Next.

Step 10 Wait for the drivers to be installed.

Step 11 Click Close. Your computer ask you to reboot, if this is the case – click Reboot.

Configuring your graphics card for 3D

Step 1 Right click on your desktop and choose NVIDIA Control Panel.

Step 2 Click Manage 3D Settings

Step 2 Click the Global presets box and choose 3D OpenGL Stereo

Step 3 Scroll down the page until you reach Stereo – Display Mode. Select Generic Active Stereo from the dropdown

menu.

Please note:

If you are using a NVIDIA 3D Vision device, please select “Generic Active Stereo (with NVIDIA 3D Vision)”.

This setting will only appear if your NVIDIA 3D Vision device is connected and the drivers correctly installed.

Step 4 Ensure that Stereo – Enable is set to On

Step 5 Once you are happy with the settings, click Apply in the bottom right hand corner.

Step 6 Click Change Resolution in the top left corner tasks.

Step 7 Choose the correct resolution and frame rate for your projector.

Ensure your Refresh rate is set to: 120Hz

A typical Resolution is: 1024 x 768

Please note:

Your resolution is dictated by the 3D Display device.

Most projectors have a native 3D resolution of 1024x768. Please check your projector manual for clarification.

120Hz is only available on certain resolutions. Setting your resolution too high will not allow you to select 120Hz.

Step 8 Once you are happy with the settings, click Apply in the bottom right hand corner.

Running the Gaia 3D Viewer for the first time

Step 1 Right click the Gaia 3D Viewer shortcut on the desktop and choose Run as administrator

Step 2 Enter your serial number in the box and then click Submit.

Tip:

You can copy and paste your code using: CTRL + C to copy and CTRL + V to paste.

This will save you time typing your code in by hand.

Step 3 Choose 2D or 3D depending on what license you have purchased, and then click Continue.

Step 4 If your internet connection is behind a proxy, click the tick box and type your authentication in, then click Continue.

Step 6 If everything worked correctly, you should be presented with the Gaia 3D Viewer main menu.

Configuring your DLP projector

Step 1 Connect your projector to your graphics card using the correct cable.

To find out which cable you need, refer to your projector manual.

Here are some examples of connecting your projector to your computer.

Step 2 Please refer to your projector manual for more help configuring your projector.

In most cases, you must enable 3D DLP in your projector 3D menu as illustrated below.

Please Note: 3D DLP mode will not appear on certain projector menu's until the projector is receiving a 120Hz input

from the PC.
