While waiting to take a Zodiac out to our ship, we could not sit down since this Sea Lion got there first

The Frigate birds are named after the pirates that sailed frigate ships. About 1/3 of the food frigate birds eat they get by

stealing. This male, below, is puffing out his throat patch trying to attract a mate to the nesting site has is sitting on.

These sea lion pups were playing with each other. The littlest one might be a month old. The guide thought the older one was maybe 6 months to a year old – definitely

was another pup on the beach, not the mother.

We saw two male Land Iguanas fighting. The males on this island have brighter yellow faces/chests. The females are browner.

The guy on the upper right was heavier and eventually ran off the other guy, with no physical

Marine Iguana are brownish-black. The Galapagos is the only place where iguanas go in the water. Instead of round tails,

their tails are blade-shaped to act like fins. This picture is on a cliff edge 20 feet above the water. They are great climbers.

Swallow-tailed gulls have the sharp V shaped tail, just like barn swallows in the US.
