SAN EXPRESS DAY-NURSERY
Teaching children road safety is very crucial
part of raising their physical safety and well-
being. In San we always care for student’s
safety. “San express day” was arranged by
teachers to teach the traffic rules and its
importance. Students were introduced and
explained about important road signs. To lift up
children’s spirit teachers sang traffic light
rhyme. Children were very excited by teacher’s
songs and they sang along. To give our little tots
hands on experience, teachers made and
demonstrated the road set up and one of our
Physical director enacted like traffic police and
directed the students to follow traffic signs and
to cross the zebra crossing. Students
effectively participated in the event and took
home lot of traffic rules, traffic light as their
take home and assured that they will pass on
the rules to the parents to follow them.
SHOW AND TELL – JR.KG ‘Show and tell’ is a chance for budding
sanities to show off their out of box thinking
skills, inviting teachers and classmates to
their own small world for a minute or two.
Students were given topic related to
agriculture, construction, modern and
present vehicles. Students brought the
related vehicles and spoke well about them
with confidence that they gained from the
previous show and tell. Complete event was a
memorable treat for the teachers. All the
children were given appreciation badges for
their untiring hard work.

S SHOW AND TELL – SR.KG Senior Kg students learnt ‘Astral
Insight’ theme throughout the
month. Students were given topic
based on theme they studied. It was
both listening and visual treat to us
to hear and watch their body
language while presenting. Our young
champions made us all proud by their
exuberant memory power. Each
presentation was different and
unique. It took lot of time to come
out of the excitement that students
created among teachers. All the
students were awarded with
appreciation badges and they took
home lot of outer space information
they gained from their friends’
presentation.
INTRA COMPETITIONS-CLASS I (Classroom decoration) -
Displaying Christmas decoration is a sign that Christmas is coming. Besides, Christmas is
incomplete without the lively and colourful Christmas Decorations. Christmas decoration
brightens up the atmosphere and this gives everyone a feeling of warmth, joy and
excitement. The students of class I along with their teachers decorated their classroom
to brighten up the celebration atmosphere linger around.

The idea of Christmas carolling
brings to mind jolly bands and
spreading the spirit of
Christmas through hymns. To
make this essence of carolling
spread around during Christmas
the children of class III were
made to sing carol songs.
Children were at the height of
happiness singing merrily.
Bible story has a set of moral values
engrossed in each story. Students
of Class IV were divided into teams
and each team enacted a bible story.
A letter to Santa contest was held
as part of Intra competition where
children wrote their wish to Santa.

INTRA COMPETITIONS-CLASS V & VI (National games) I
Playing allows children to use their creativity while developing their imagination, dexterity,
physical, cognitive, and emotional strength. Play is important to healthy brain development.
It is through play that children at a very early age engage and interact in the world around
them. Students of class V and VI had a visual treat watching the National games of
Argentina, Bhutan, Bangladesh and India. The students came to know the rules and
regulations of the game and the techniques needed to play these games.
Archery, Hockey, Kabbadi and Football-live matches were conducted and winners were
given certificates and medals.

INTRA COMPETITIONS-CLASS VII & VIII (Design a dress)
Designing is thinking made visual. The students of class VII and VIII were divided
into groups .Each group were asked to design a dress using newspaper, which helped
them to foster their creativity and imaginative skills.

Christmas is the season of joy. We at San family united to
celebrate this wonderful festival. The celebration had lot of
exciting and interesting package. Stage was decorated with
the Christmas tree, crib, snow man and lot of colorful
balloons and merry Christmas wishes. Event began with
rhythmic performance from kindergarten students, jingle
dance by senior kg children and add- on surprise package by
Santa Claus. The teachers and students were spell bound by
the energy they gained in the celebration. Students took
home the importance of Christmas celebration and Santa
Claus, Christmas tree as their take home.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS - PRIMARY
Christmas is the spirit of giving without a thought of
getting. The spirit of Christmas brings cheer and love
everywhere. San Academy Kamakoti Nagar, wore the
festive look in the entire month of December leading
to the culmination of the celebrations on 20th
December 2018. Everyday children from different
class and section had a surprise game along with Santa.
They were given cute little stars as take home. The
entire campus was festooned with decorated Santa
with his sleigh, Christmas trees, wreaths, stockings,
candies and other ornaments. Two Christmas trees, a
huge Santa, Rudolph and their sleigh and a few stars
adorned the lobby. The programme consisted of
Christmas and prayer songs by Classes 1 and 5,
melodious carols, both Tamil and English, by students
of classes 2 & 4. Class 3 danced gracefully to the tunes
of Christmas carols. Students of classes 6 to 8
presented the Nativity Scene accompanied by apt
carols by the school choir. Our dance master
enthralled the students by moving about as Santa
Claus.

“ÉUREKA 2018” – Project Day, conducted on December 21st and 22nd , gave the
opportunity to give wings to the students’ imagination and bring forth ideas to present in
the form of models, charts and experiments. They were given the prospect of learning and
exploring the known & unknown aspects of the given theme at deeper level. The Project Day
was an interactive event for students with quick learning opportunities & interactive
approach in propagating knowledge.
Each class delved on a different theme. The entire San Academy Family of Parents,
Teachers and Students, worked as one in making this a very memorable event. Undertaking
project work on different topics helped the students to strengthen their competence to
think and analyze critically.
The entrance and the lobby gave the general idea to the visitors what they could expect
when they visited the classrooms. A cultural event was held for the visitors twice a day, to
give an introduction of the theme, by each class. These included dance, mime and talk show.
Internationalism was brought into each theme and the models and charts integrated
India with various other countries. Air and water transport was the theme of Nursery and
Junior KG. The entire room had on display various vehicles, including trains, cars and a bullock
cart.
Space was chosen by Senior KG and Class 5. They had various models on the universe,
satellites, solar system, space ships and space suits. The students explained various
phenomena including the white holes and the black holes.
Class 1 chose one of the pressing issues regarding our environment – Endangered
animals. Not only were the models well-made but the room had some thought provoking
slogans too.
The most beautiful moments are associated with memories and moments, which include
celebrations and festivals. Festivals across the world were analysed and similarities were
exhibited between some of our Indian festivals to those of other countries; like the Chinese
New Year and Vishu, Navarathri golu and Japanese Doll festival.

PROJECT DAY
Class 3 presented the wonders of the world. The man-made wonders were not
restricted to the modern ones but ancient wonders were included too. They even furnished
details of natural wonders of the world like the Auroras.
While coming out of the room, one would definitely have added some places to their
bucket list. What is modern times without Robot? Class 4 joined hands with the Robotics
Club to take us into the world of Robots. A humanoid Robot welcomed the visitors into their
sphere. The types of robots explained by the students included industrial, medical and
agricultural robots. The students belonging to the club made a working model of e-waste
management.
Enlightening the guests on the man-made and natural disasters were the students of
Class 6. Several working models of tsunami, flood, air and water pollution, earthquake and
oil spill were on display.
Classes 7 & 8 had several hands on activities in Mathematics and Science, to entertain
the guests while proving certain concepts. They had touched on the topics of Fibonacci
series, Probability, Volume, etc. Working models of Water treatment plant, Maglev train, Li
–Fi, also were on show.
Apart from these there was a Mobile Planetarium and a stall where children and adults
could take pictures with virtual reality.
Each class decorated their rooms, the corridors, the doors, ceilings (with classroom
mobiles) with their chosen themes. The walls were not far behind, with charts prepared by
the students and thematic backgrounds by the teachers, which added colour to the display.
One of the main attractions was the centre piece which ranged from Central Station, a huge
tree with endangered animals and thought provoking slogans, fire breathing dragon, a
spaceship, a big robot, Hanging gardens of Babylon, Volcano and a working model of water
treatment plant. On display were also the scrap books and worksheets made by students.
Students had pain stakingly prepared a very colourful scrap book based on their chosen
topic.
Parents and visitors keenly interacted with students who exuded confidence while
explaining to them about the various projects and activities that were on display.
It was a mass participation with working and static models based on their respective
themes. Every single inch of space in the class rooms was utilized by the students and
teachers. The entire bonanza was a treat to our eyes, which simulated our brains. The
visitors would have garnered some information from the eager students.
This was a perfect example of inspiration and igniting minds to explore the world.
