ADDITIONAL TEAM NOTES...

• Toronto clinched its fifth Atlantic Division title in the last six seasons (2013-

19) with a 121-109 victory Apr. 1 vs. Orlando. The only other team with more than four division titles during this stretch is Golden State also with five (including this season). The Raptors have won the Atlantic Division title six times overall.

• The Raptors finished with an 9-6 record in March. Toronto posted a winning mark for a team-record 16th consecutive calendar month (since February 2017) - the longest current streak of its kind in the NBA. The only other double-digit streak of that kind in Raptors history was 11 straight winning months from Apr. 2015 through Dec. 2016.

• Toronto secured its fourth consecutive 50-win season with a 128-92 victory Mar. 18 vs. New York. Prior to this streak, the Raptors had never recorded 50 wins in a season. Toronto has the second-best record in the NBA over the past four seasons, trailing only Golden State – BEST RECORD SINCE 2015-16: Golden State, 255-73 (.777); Toronto, 224-104 (.683).

• Toronto finished a perfect 10-0 vs. the Pacific Division this season. No other NBA team is undefeated against a division this year. The last team to go 10-0 (or better) versus one division was Golden State against the Southeast Division in 2015-16.

• The Raptors tied a franchise record by making 21 three-pointers during a 125-104 victory Mar. 10 at Miami. The last time Toronto made 21 threes in a game was Mar. 13, 2005 vs. Philadelphia.

• The Toronto Raptors and Houston Rockets will play two preseason games in Japan. The NBA Japan Games 2019 Presented by Rakuten will take place Tuesday, Oct. 8 and Thursday, Oct. 10 at Saitama Super Arena and will mark Toronto’s first trip to Asia. The Raptors have played overseas in Rome, Italy (2007), Madrid, Spain (2007) and London, England (2011 and 2016). Between 1990 and 2003, the NBA staged 12 regular-season games in Japan. The match-up between the Phoenix Suns and the Utah Jazz in Tokyo on Nov. 2, 1990 marked the first regular-season game played out-side of North America by a U.S. sports league.

• Kawhi Leonard led all Eastern Conference players averaging 30.2 points during 10 games played in the month of January. He scored 30 or more points seven times, including a career-high 45 points Jan. 1 vs. Utah. Leon-ard averaged 30.0 points in a calendar month for the first time in his career; his previous high was 29.1 ppg set in December. Vince Carter holds the franchise record for scoring average in a calendar month (min. 10 games played), averaging 30.7 points in December 2000.

• Kyle Lowry reached 5,000 career assists Jan. 17 vs. Phoenix. Lowry be-came the 10th active player in the NBA to reach this milestone; joining Chris Paul, LeBron James, Tony Parker, Rajon Rondo, Russell Westbrook, Dwyane Wade, John Wall, Jose Calderon and Raymond Felton. Lowry ranks second on the Raptors’ all-time assists list behind only Calderon.

ADDITIONAL TEAM NOTES... • Kawhi Leonard was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for

games played Jan. 7-13. He earned the honour for the second time this season and sixth time in his career. Leonard averaged team highs of 30.7 points and 8.7 rebounds in three victories.

• The Raptors finished 2018 with a 35–10 record at home, tying the franchise record for most home wins in a calendar year. Toronto also went 35–10 at home in 2014.

• Kawhi Leonard led the Raptors, either outright or tied, in points, rebounds, and assists in consecutive games (Dec. 16-19). Kyle Lowry is the only other player in team history to lead the team in those three categories in back-to-back games (Twice: Nov. 3–4, 2012 & Nov. 22–24, 2017).

• Kyle Lowry tied the single-season franchise record leading the team out-right in assists in 22 straight games (Oct. 20 - Dec. 3). Damon Stoudamire set the record (Jan. 11 - Feb. 29, 1996) during the team’s inaugural season.

• Kawhi Leonard was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week (Nov. 26 - Dec. 2). He earned the honour for the fifth time in his career. Leonard led the Raptors averaging 29.3 points and 9.0 rebounds in three wins.

• The Raptors were 12–3 in the month of November, tying the franchise rec-ord for wins in a calendar month. Toronto went 12–2 in Jan. 2016, and 12–4 in Nov. 2014 and Mar. 2018.

• Pascal Siakam was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played Nov. 5-11 after averaging a team-high 20.0 points, 4.3 re-bounds and shooting .724 (21-29) from the field in three games. Siakam led the team in scoring for the first time with a career-high 23 points during To-ronto’s 128-112 victory Nov. 12 vs. New York. He became the eighth player in franchise history to earn player of the week honours.

• The Raptors defeated Cleveland, 116-104, in their season opener. Nick Nurse became the fifth coach in franchise history to win his first game; join-ing Brendan Malone (1995), Kevin O’Neill (2003), Sam Mitchell (2004) and Dwane Casey (2011).

• Toronto’s series-winning Game 7 vs. Philadelphia on May 12 was the most-watched NBA game in Canadian history. The game broadcasted on Sportsnet attracted 5.8 million Canadians who watched some or all of the game. The audience peaked with 3.8 million viewers at 9:33 p.m. as Kawhi Leonard made his series-winning shot.

NICK NURSE HEAD COACH Nick Nurse was named the ninth head coach in Raptors history on June 14, 2018, taking on the top job after five years as an assistant coach with the organization. He has served as a head coach in the then-NBA Development League, overseas in the British Basketball League and in the collegiate ranks. Known for his offensive flair and on-court innovation, Nurse joined the Raptors in 2013 and helped construct an offensive system that ranked among in the NBA’s top 10 in three of five seasons. During the 2017-18 campaign the Rap-tors set franchise records for points per game (111.7) and three-pointers made (968). The Raptors coaching staff represented the Eastern Conference at the 2018 NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles, guiding Team LeBron to a 148-145 victory over Team Stephen in the annual showdown of the league’s best players. Nurse came to the NBA after several successful years in the NBA D League - now the NBA G League - where he was the only coach to lead two different teams to the league championship. He was named head coach of the NBA G League All-Stars three times. Nurse coached the Rio Grande Valley Vipers to a 59-41 mark over two sea-sons and won the 2012-13 NBA D League championship. Prior to taking the reins in Rio Grande, Nurse coached the Iowa Energy to an overall regular season mark of 124-76 (.620) and the 2010-11 NBA D-League championship. For his accomplishments, Nurse was named the 2010-11 recipient of the Den-nis Johnson Coach of the Year award. Nurse led the Energy to back-to-back 37-13 finishes in 2009-10 and 2010-11, setting and then tying the league record for wins in a single season. Nurse led the Energy to two Eastern Conference championships and one Central Divi-sion championship. A graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, Nurse began his coaching ca-reer at the age of 23 when he became the head coach of Grand View College, making him the youngest college basketball coach in the United States. He moved on to an assistant coach position at the University of South Dakota where his teams recorded a 46-14 mark. Nurse coached in Europe for 11 years beginning in 1996, winning nine cham-pionships and two Coach of the Year awards while earning six All-Star head coach selections in the British Basketball League. During that time, he also gained coaching experience in Italy, Belgium and the USBL. Additionally, Nurse served as an assistant coach in the 2012 Olympics for the host British National Team. Nurse holds a career professional coaching record of 459-220 (.676) during the regular season and 76-54 (.585) in the postseason. Nurse, 51, is a native of Carroll, Iowa. He is married to Roberta, and has two sons, Noah and Leo.
