INTRODUCTION

• Gangaramaya Temple is one of the biggest and important Buddhist Temples in Colombo.

• The temple is a mix of Sri Lankan, Thai, Indian, and Chinese architecture.

THE PROCESSION-“NAVAM PERAHERA”

• This is celebrated on the full moon day in the month February.

• During this day, the roads of Colombo become a site for celebration.

• The procession is something you should really experience.

THE ARTWORK

• Most of the statues have been donated or gifted by Thailand,

Myanmar, China, and Japan.

THE MUSEUM

• Here, you can see a collection of stuff related to Buddhist and Hindu

mythology, ranging from small artifacts to large thrones and elephant

tusks.
