Photo downloaded from Worldwatch ins'tute, copyright belongs to infzm.com
According to Project2049 ins'tute, there are as many as 168 eco-‐ci'es in China and coun'ng…
Is China building eco-‐ci'es too fast? Is China building the eco-‐ci'es we need? Is there a risk that the name “eco-‐city” has turned into a “luxury brand” for infrastructure project and real estate games?

Is it sustainable?
• Popula'on? • Economy?
• Energy & Resources? • The whole model?
• In some cases in China, eco-‐ci'es have turned into ghost ci'es

The problem
• Conven'onal city planning? • Transport? (how to beaer connect) • Energy and resources? • Local Popula'on? • Resilient eco-‐city?

Will you buy it?
• Enough residents? • For the Rich or poor? • Model sustainable?

Eco-‐ci'es are cool, but not every city needs one!
