About the ArchitectAndrew N. Rebori was a prominent Chicago school architect and the managing partner in the nationally known firm of Rebori, Wentworth, Dewey and McCormick. After attending M.I.T. in Boston, Rebori traveled to Europe to study classical architecture at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1908 to 1909. From 1909 to 1910, he worked in New York at the office of neo-classical architect Cass Gilbert. Rebori then returned to Europe to continue his studies at the American Academy in Rome.

Mr. Rebori came to Chicago, perhaps in connection with his friendship with Nannie Pendergast, the niece of Chicago Tribune owner Robert R. McCormick. Pendergast and Redori were married on 1913.

Rebori went on to have a very successful practice as a Society architect on Chicago’s Gold Coast, working mostly on luxury apartment buildings and larger projects on upper Michigan Avenue, which he planned. His most noted Chicago works include the Madonna della Strada chapel, the Racquet Club, 1325 N. Astor, 40-50 W. Schiller, 2430 N. Lake, the LaSalle-Wacker Building, Loyola University’s Elizabeth M. Cudahy Library, the Fisher Studio Houses, and a double house for himself at 1328 N. State.
