I initially visited St. John's church to look around and take some inside photographs.

I was impressed by the neatness of the old churchyard, the footstones placed behind their headstones and of the

various tomb styles.

I decided only to survey the old churchyard, discovering after a couple of visits that the church itself had surveyed

this area and produced a document “St. John the Baptist, Garboldisham, A survey of memorials inside & around the

church”; Research and compilation of inscriptions by John Pepperdine (of Norwich) 2009. This can be found near

the north door. It has been well produced and covers not only the memorial type, inscribed dates and epitaphs but

also the burial dates. This covers the old churchyard and its extension, which opened in 1906.

I disagree with some of the surnames, dates and ages and I have added a few additional memorials not covered

(noted as JP). Where inscriptions are illegible I have used the above recorded information. The plot location

numbers remain the same.
