G’Day Members & Friends,I will start this month’s report with another big thank you. Graham & Shirley Hunt went out of their way to make sure one of our patrons got home to Mannum safely after our January club show. They drove him home in his car with Shirley following. Thanks guys, your help is appreciated. We have a Newsletter Editor helping me with putting it together. Chris Scotland wants to give it a try. Well our February show was another good day. Work-N-Overtime had the dance floor buzzing with some good dance music. Well done guys. We have got some extra shows happening this year starting with Brian Letton on April 22nd 2pm to 5.30pm, Then the Juke Box Boys Cabaret on 19th May, followed by our Sunday show with the Juke Box Boys, with Tiffney Reynolds as our guest artist, and Friday August 17th , we have Amber Joy Poulton and The Holy Men. Tickets are available for the three special shows. See details further on in this News Letter. Well moving on to our March show we will have the Black Hats to entertain us and Dean Bird will be our guest artist. Another good day lined up. So until then, keep it country!

A Sense of Love by Max Crispin

You know, me and my children talk about their children

They tell me my grandchildren aren’t turning out the way they thought they would.

As parents, they are angry, hurt and worried about it.

I’m not. I love those kids the way they are-open, honest, disorganised, sometimes scruffy, but always gentle.

They don’t seem to mind spending some time with an old bloke like me.

They ask “What did you do when you were our age?

What were your hopes and dreams? Did you think about the person you would one day marry?”

Then I talk to them about real things-peace, their ambitions and how living a good life is more important than doing great things or accomplishing great deeds.

Their parents are outraged by this, but I don’t get into a long argument with them.

I just say “Well the kids came” and they say “Good, at least they have a sense of duty”.

On that point, they couldn’t be more mistaken. Those kids have a sense of love.

Playford Country Music Club Open Mic.

The open mic is held on the third Saturday of every month prior to our Sunday club show.

The Playford Country Music Club’s Open Mic is held at the Uley Road Hall, Elizabeth Downs from 11am through to 4.30pm.

Entry is $4 and tea and coffee are available. BYO nibbles to share.

Everyone is welcome to get up and sing a song or two, or just sit back and relax and enjoy the time with family and friends.

President’s Report

Hello Members & Friends, Well I start this month off with a thank you to Chris Scotland. Chris has come on board to do our Newsletter. This one being her first. Your help is appreciated. Well here we are nearing the end of the third month of 2018, time is really flying by. Well onto our March show, with great numbers through the door and our band, the Black Hats, playing great dance music which kept the dance floor busy

all day. We also had Dean Bird, as our guest artist, who also did two brackets with great dancing music. Well done guys, we had a great day. We have three special shows coming up with tickets available. Our first is with

Brian Letton on the 22nd April from 2.00 pm through to around 5 pm. Our second is with the Juke Box Boy’s Cabaret on the 19th May and again on our Sunday Show. Then our third show is with Amber Joy Poulton & The

Holy Men. This will be another great show. See Helen Warren for tickets. Onto our April show. We will have Gary Daniel & Tru-Country with our guest artist Malcolm Doyle. This will be another great day, so don’t miss
