CME Activity Description

The Mayo Clinic Gastroenterology and Hepatology Board Review is designed for candidates preparing

for certification and maintenance of certification (MOC) examinations in gastroenterology and

hepatology. The Gastroenterology and Hepatology Board Review will include relevant topics such as

pathology, endoscopy, radiology and nutrition.

CME Activity Objectives

1. Identify esophageal, gastric, small bowel and colon diseases and other disorders of the GI tract

and liver.

2. Articulate diagnostic therapeutic approaches to management of patients diagnosed with digestive

disorders.

3. Discuss relevant areas of pathology, endoscopy, radiology and nutrition.

Attendance at this Mayo Clinic activity does not indicate nor guarantee competence or proficiency in the

performance of any procedures which may be discussed or taught in this activity.

Intended Audience

This course is designed for GI fellows, gastroenterologists, persons preparing for GI board exams and

recertification, gastroenterologists needing MOC, and GI nurse practitioners, physician assistants and

physician extenders.

Continuing Education Credit

Mayo Clinic College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical

Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

A certificate of attendance will be provided to other health care professionals for requesting credits in

accordance with state nursing boards, specialty societies, or other professional associations.

ABIM Maintenance of Certification Points

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component,

enables the participant to earn up to 32.25 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's

(ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to

the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to

submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

CME Record of Attendance

Mayo School of Continuous Professional Development (MSCPD) will now be providing electronic

record of attendance certificates through our new website and registration system. Paper certificates will

no longer be provided. The record of attendance allows attendees to calculate their own credits of

participation in the educational activity.

Upon conclusion of the CME activity, and completion of any required course materials, you will be able

to claim credits commensurate with your participation at the CME activity.

Directions will be provided on how to claim your credit. A copy of the record of attendance will remain

available in your personal account on the MSCPD website and registration system and can be printed at

any time.

The record of attendance can be used for requesting credits in accordance with state licensing boards,
