We ask God to forgive us for all the times we might not keep a promise when we sing the song

Kol Nidre.

We need light to see.


Torah lights our way

and helps us to be better people.

We need Torah to help us make good choices.


Torah brightens our lives with mitzvot, rules that make our goodness grow.

to grow.


With love we sing the Sh’ma, words from the Torah . May these words always be our light .

We praise You our God, for light and life, for Torah and t’shuvah –being able to say “I’m sorry.”

Help us, God, to make good choices according to the rules of kindness in the Torah.

We love God when we share with our friends.

Helping others is the way we love God with all our strength.


How do we love God with all our heart?

Eternal God, we want to show you we love

You through all our deeds. May our love

make the world a better place, the kind of

world You meant it to be when You created us.


We look into the Yom Kippur mirror and remember:

We must treat people who are different from us fairly.We must not be cruel to those who aren’t as strong as we are.We must not be cruel to those who hurt us.

We are happy God freed our people and for the freedom we have today. We sing Mi Chamocha, a song of praise to God for freedom.

Mi Chamocha, who is like You Eternal God? You help us learn from the past so we may do good deeds in the future.

For these mistakes, our God, we ask forgiveness:

For saying mean wordsFor hitting instead of using words when we feel hurt

For not sharing what is oursFor not listening to parents and teachers

For not telling the truthFor making bad choices when we know what the

For all wrongs, the ones we say out loud and those we know in our hearts, we are sorry.
