Up & Coming (Continued from page 1)

Octane reports on the restoration of a 1957 Jaguar Mk 1 and the resumption of its racing career. In October’s Thor-oughbred & Classic Cars, market analysts rate 30 vehicles which are rapidly climbing in value; the list includes the BMW CSA and CSL, M3 and Jaguar E-Type 3.8.

In the September edition of Car, “25 British Cars to Drive Before You Die.” The list includes the Jaguar XJ220 (“The ballistic basket case”), Morgan 3-Wheeler, MGB (“The people’s sports car”), Jaguar XJ6 (“The ride of your life”), Jaguar E-Type (“Symphony of speed and style”) and Mini Cooper S (“Cute hooligan”). This issue also has a column by Gavin Green on the impact of BMW’s success on other carmakers and a road test of the new Jaguar XF as well as a back page look at “The Top 10 British cars to die before you drive” (hint: two of the member club marques have examples on the list).

Over at Classic & Sports Car for October, a feature on a Triumph TR4-based Fiberfab Jamaican, among other arti-cles including one covering the 240Z/260Z/280ZX which takes it directly to the classic Brit sports cars (“Austin-Healey, MG, Jaguar, Triumph – Your Boys Took One Hell of a Beating”). Same issue, something for those secret Citroën fans (we’re aware of two local LBC execs who admit to liking Citroëns): a comparison between a DS19, DS19 Safari, DS21 Pallas and DS21 Décopatable.
