As a colleague and friend of GB Shades, I wanted to share with you “the ½” story.” Every parent, aunt, or uncle, has their own ½ inch story. Lollipop Kids was started by Debbie Sahlin after her son suffered severe head trauma. Her son, Ryan, was about a year old when he went with his father to a golf course driving range. Ryan was accidently struck by a swinging golf club. ½ inch one way he would have been killed, ½ inch the other he would have missed being hit. The trauma he re-ceived leaves him permanently disabled that is unfixable by surgery or any other means.
Debbie started the Lollipop Kids Foundation, www.lollipopkidsfoundation.org, in order to help other families raising chil-dren with disabilities. She serves a particular niche and has helped innumerable parents without the proper resources get the tools they need to help their child flourish.
The Lollipop Kids Foundation is our next door neighbor and friend. As our neighbor, we have been able to see, first hand, the life-changing effects first-hand on the kids and parents visiting the center. We are inviting all the general contractors, architects and our friends to join us and play and/or sponsor the 2nd Annual Golf Tournament in order to help support the Lollipop Kids Foundation’s work with children in our community; please see the attached invitation for event specifics and www.lollipopkidsfoundation.org for more in-depth information about the foundation.
