INTRODUCTION The GBA group is made up of three companies. They include GBA-Corona, Inc. in the United States, GBA Ltd. in England and GBA srl. in Italy. The GBA group prides itself in being able to provide a total “turn-key” package from engineering design through fabrication, erection and commissioning, utilizing our own staff resources. Each group works closely to ensure that customers are provided with the particular requirements needed for the area of the world where the equipment will be supplied. When one group receives an order, the other groups support completely as required. GBA is a multi-disciplined international company that maintains a users list that covers companies all over the world. GBA srl. has built a reputation of supplying all types of flare stacks for over 25 years. They have specialized in the supply of de-mountable flare structures. In fact, GBA srl. has supplied the tallest de-mountable flare structures at over 200 m tall. Not only have we designed and fabricated these structures, we have also provided installation. GBA-Corona, Inc. and GBA Ltd. hold the expertise for flare system design. While the company names may seem new to the flaring industry (compared to older companies) the personnel are not. The Company brings engineers with over twenty years of experience of designing and supplying flare systems for both domestic (USA) and international applications. Some of the larger flare companies may have more history and have more flares in the field, but chances are the engineers that you will be working with only have one or two years of experience with flare application work. The GBA group offers years of application engineering expertise rather than probabilities from other vendors. We have years of design, testing, project management and field service experience with John Zink, Kaldair (BP Ventures), Callidus and Birwelco. With this experience comes the applications knowledge which is essential for proper flare equipment selection. We have successfully designed and executed projects ranging from 1 mmscfd to 1500 mmscfd. GBA offers a full range of products for both high pressure and low-pressure applications. All of the equipment is designed with the operator/end user in mind. Included in this product line is the CSF flare which will specifically addresses the smokeless, low heat radiation flaring requirements, while maintaining the principles required for longevity. GBA can meet your equipment supply and design needs related to flaring for both onshore and offshore.

COMPANY PROFILE GBA is a multi-disciplined international company with over 25 years of experience in supplying equipment to petrochemical contractors and operators throughout the world. Its history can be traced back to 1972 when the company was started by a team of highly qualified and respected engineers with experience gained in working for major international engineering companies such as Foster Wheeler and Fluor. Having initially gained a reputation as a first class designer of specialised steel structures, pressure vessels and piping systems for use in the civil and construction industries, the company rapidly expanded into other areas requiring its expertise in structural and mechanical design. It now supplies complete flare systems and process plant into the worldwide Oil, Gas and Petrochemical markets in addition to those industries in which its name was originally established. GBA has main offices based in London, Milan and Houston from where the company provides engineering, process design and project management services. With our own fabrication plant covering 15,500m² in Parma, Italy and an erection crew staffed entirely by GBA’s own experienced workforce, GBA can provide a total engineering solution from the design phase through to the completion of site construction and commissioning, ensuring total project management responsibility at minimum cost and risk to our clients. For projects where the local supply of equipment is preferred, GBA are able to sub-contract fabrication to approved companies throughout the world experienced in the manufacture of flare systems and structures to international codes and standards. To further demonstrate our international capabilities, GBA are represented in most countries through a network of established and professional agents, selected to meet the high expectations of both GBA and our clients. GBA recognises the importance of, and the need for Quality Assurance and Quality Control in the supply of process equipment, and operates a system which complies with the requirements of ISO 9001 (Design) and ISO 9002 (Fabrication). In the last 10 years, GBA has concentrated on supplying flare systems of all types, but in particular the company has become well known for supplying some of the largest and most demanding derrick supported flare stacks incorporating a unique method of demounting the flare risers for maintenance access. In fact GBA has supplied the world's tallest demountable flare stacks. These are the three 204m high structures built in Antwerp, Belgium for Fina Neste. GBA offers its own range of flare tips suitable for all onshore and offshore applications in addition to ancillary equipment such as ignition, monitoring and steam control systems.

Installation/Erection

GBA employ their own construction and installation crew and will provide all labour, workforce and plant necessary to erect equipment supplied by GBA or others.

Commissioning

GBA employ their own team of engineers capable of providing on-site services for all your pre-commissioning and commissioning requirements.

Maintenance

GBA employ their own team of engineers, experienced and qualified to inspect existing plant and make recommendations on the need to repair, replace or continue to use equipment. Our engineers will be pleased to undertake studies for replacing our own or competitors equipment and will be pleased to undertake all work necessary to change-out flare tips using our own labour and plant. GBA will also be pleased to conduct guy wire inspections on existing stacks and re-tension wires if it is felt necessary as part of an on-going maintenance program.

ENGINEERING CAPABILITY General GBA srl is certified to ISO 9002 and employs over 60 personnel at its offices in London, Milan, and Houston comprising process, mechanical, structural and instrument engineers, CAD draughtsmen, QA/QC managers, inspectors and support staff in addition to qualified welders, fitters, construction crew and supervisors based at our fabrication plant in Parma. Each individual is highly qualified in their own field of expertise, and collectively, all employees ensure that GBA can offer a complete "turn-key" package covering process design, engineering, procurement, fabrication, project management, erection/construction, commissioning and maintenance of our total product range. GBA has the capability to perform design and engineering using the most up-to-date networked AUTOCAD facilities and E-mail service, a project management department with international procurement experience, Quality Control management and inspectors all dedicated to ensuring quality and timely delivery of equipment. GBA operate a quality system at our fabrication facility which complies with the requirements of ISO 9002: 1994. We are an independently registered company and hold certificate No: 47244 issued by Bureau Veritas Quality International Italia srl (BVQI) a copy of which is included herein. GBA's quality system has been individually reviewed by many clients and inspection authorities including Lloyds, RINA TUV, ISPESL, QASCO and DNV. Information Technology GBA uses the following software for CAD and CAE:- AUTOCAD Release 14 ALGOR FEA Software FLARESIM Version 2.39 Drawings can be provided as Autocad output files .DRG or as .DXF files. Documents are generally produced on Microsoft Word or Excel and any of the formats supported by these packages can be exported. All GBA offices have Internet connections and can receive or transmit documents electronically. Direct point to point data transmission is also possible by arrangement.

FABRICATION SHOP CAPABILITIES

FABRICATION SHOP CAPABILITIES GBA has full fabrication capabilities in the US and in Europe. In the United States, the work is subcontracted to Cen-Tex Marine Fabricators located in Smithsville Texas. Cen-Tex is an ASME code shop. A full company presentation for Cen-Tex can be provided upon request. For projects built in Europe, fabrication of equipment, QA/QC activities and inspection is undertaken at GBA’s own manufacturing plant located at Castelguelfo, Parma, Italy covering 15,500 m2. It is almost completely dedicated to the production of flare systems including risers, vessels and structures, and has a segregated stainless steel shop dedicated to the fabrication of flare tips and stainless steel components. The factory is 3km from the center of Parma and has sufficient area to enable the trial assembly and fit-up of very large derrick structures. High Pressure CSF Sonic Flare

Combines the best features of Coanda based flares with the longevity of Multi arm flares

The GBA-Corona CSF flare is the result of years of studying the performance of all types of high-pressure sonic flares. This flare is capable of providing low heat radiation flaring, while maintaining the design principles required to ensure longevity. The GBA-Corona CSF flare uses the energy associated with pressurized gas to entrain and mix large quantities of air. The difference in this multi-arm sonic flare is in the nozzle. Unlike other multi-arm flares, the CSF flare does not lose efficiency as the size increases. The annulus design of the nozzle enhances the mixing rate of the entrained air, into the primary mixing zone of flame. This highly aerated gas and air stream burns with a clean short flame and with F-Factors ranging from 0.06 to 0.10.

Most flares spend very little time at the peak design rate. Yet, many flares are unable to handle the condition that occurs most of the time -- low flow turndown. Unlike flares that rely on large diameter curved surfaces, the GBA-Corona CSF flare ensures that the combustion takes place above the flare tip. This eliminates nearly the entire continuous flame lick on the flare. And by using properly designed wind deflectors, low flow rate flames are allowed to lift away from the flare further reducing the chance of flame lick. These two features greatly improve longevity and guard against flare tip failure.

As an added feature, a low-pressure duct can easily be incorporated within the wind deflectors of the CSF flare. The top of the LP duct is at the same elevation as the CSF nozzles. This HP / LP design further reduces the possibility of continuous flame lick.

CSF-VSF Variable Area Sonic Flare

Provides Nearly Infinite Turndown without Staging

For many applications turndown is essential. With sonic flares, performance is achieved when the exit velocity is high. Fixed exit area flares can run into problems when the flow falls. Both radiation and smoke production may need to be addressed. With the GBA-Corona CSF-VSF variable area design, nearly infinite turndown can be achieved with a single flare. Relying on the force exerted by internal pressure, the CSF-VSF nozzle can lift to allow for greater flows without producing excess pressure. Once again, all aspects of the GBA-Corona CSF-VSF flare are designed with performance and longevity in mind. Proven design principles are used. Simplicity and durability ensure long life and reliability.

Various features can be added to provide a total relief system. A small blower can be used to help clean up even extremely high molecular weight low flow cases (for very environmentally sensitive locations). A By-Pass can be added for failsafe operation. Thermocouples can be added to monitor all temperatures.

CAF - Air Assisted Flare

Improves efficiency and safety When pressure energy is not available, an assist medium is required to achieve clean combustion. The GBA-Corona CAF air assisted flare uses forced air, via a low-pressure blower, to provide smokeless flaring. The CAF flare tip includes mixing vanes which ensures that the air and gas are kept separate until both exit the tip of the flare. These vanes also maximize the air to gas surface area contact, improving efficiency. Maintaining GBA-Corona philosophy of annulus flaring, the CAF mixing head allows the gas to be channeled to the outer annulus and the air to be fed through the center of the flame. This decreases the thickness of the waste gas stream, allows the outer surface of the waste gas stream to come in contact with the surrounding air and further increases overall efficiency. Additionally, the forced air ensures continuous internal cool which extents the life of the flare tip.

Proper control of the airflow is essential for successful operation of an air flare through its smokeless range. This is especially true for large air flare systems. GBA-Corona recommends and can provide a simple air control system. The system includes a pressure transmitter (monitoring the waste gas stream), a PLC and a blower damper. For more control, a two-speed motor can easily be incorporated.

GCT - Steam Assist Flare

A low cost steam flare without the loss of quality

The steam assist flare relies on the energy associated with pressurized steam to entrain air and provide the mixing required for smokeless flaring. Additionally, the water / gas reaction improves the hydrocarbon combustion breakdown while reducing the flame temperatures. Both enhance the steam flares ability to reduce smoke formation.

The GBA-Corona GCT steam assist flare is part of the utility line of flares. This economical flare uses a ring of nozzles to inject steam into the base of the waste gas flame. The nozzles are angled to improve the air entrainment and maximize the air / gas mixing. For larger flares, a center steam nozzle can easily be incorporated.

GAJ – Low Noise Steam Assisted Flare

High Frequency Shielding and Internal Injection With high-pressure steam, noise is inevitable. Shielding can attenuate high frequency noise. The trick is to ensure that the shield does not restrict the air entrainment. The GBA-Corona GAJ high tech steam assist flare can provide this. Two sets of nozzles can be included to improve steam turndown and reduce noise for large capacity steam flares.

The GBA-Corona PF pipe flare offers an economical way to safely dispose waste gas streams. But don’t let the word economic fool you. These flares also incorporate features that enhance both performance and longevity. Providing reliable electronic or flame front pilots completes the pipe flare package.

The standard GBA-Corona PF flare includes wind deflectors that break up the low-pressure region on the down wind side of the flare. This reduces the flame lick and leads to greatly extended life. Other features that can be provided include flame stabilizers (for high velocity streams or low heating value gases) and an “air lock” purge reduction seals.

Utility and Sonic designs For low-pressure systems, GBA- Corona can offer a simple PF-V pipe vent. To increase safety, an “air lock” purge reduction seal is normally included.

When pressure is available, the CSF-V sonic vents provide reduced radiation in the event of accidental ignition. And, because of high rate of air entrainment, the dispersion characteristics are superior to a low velocity vent. The CSF-V sonic vent is suited for all tip angles, including horizontal. For small applications, a single arm CSF-RO-V tip can be incorporated.

The GBA - Corona air lock seal provides a physical obstruction for the air thatoccasionally migrates along the wall of a flare where the purge gas is moving theslowest. The inverted cone/baffle diverts the air toward the exit and toward thecenter where the purge gas is moving the fastest. This seal is light weight,maintenance free, self draining and minimizes pressure drop.

The GBA-Corona static / molecular / labyrinth seal provides a series of turnswhich restrict the ability of air to migrate into the waste gas header. Thisdrastically reduces the purge rate requirements. Additionally, if the purgemedium is lost, the curves form temporary pockets of stored purge gas whichprevents air ingression. To aid in serviceability, the GBA-Corona static seal canbe fitted with a drain connection.
