GCSE Art and Design Year 9‐ 

 Human Form, Portraiture and anatomy with 

a sense of place 

 Hi Year 9 GCSE Art and Design group, you will be looking at ‘sense of place’.   Sense of place is about 

the environmental context of how the human being lives, functions or survives.  

 

Tasks 

I would  like to create a series of drawings, paintings or pen work on any background materials  for 

example, you can create a drawing on newspaper, painting on a brown card or a cheap canvas from 

hobby craft or paint on wood‐  it  is entirely up to you. However, the most  important   aspect of the 

tasks‐ it looks good and it is the best work you can do… I have taken photographs of Hampstead Heath 

Park. I would like you to paint or draw these images. It can be big or small pieces. Please bring your 

outcomes to the Academy in September so that it will be used as part of your coursework. Thank you.
