The 4th AnnualDesigner Toy Awards

The quality of being cleverly inventive or resourceful has

transcended through traditional mediums and can be found

in non-traditional products – including toys. Designer toys

have been a growing form of expression and creative outlet

for artists. The Designer Toy Awards celebrate the communityof artists that are at the forefront of this trendsetting

industry. The 2014 award ceremony recognized the best of the

industry’s artists, designers and brands, as well as honored

those involved in championing Designer Toys throughout the

world. With over 700 entries placed for consideration, the

Designer Toy Award's Nomination Committee — comprised of

over two dozen industry professionals — were tasked with

selecting six nominees for each category.

We want to congratulate the 2014 Designer Toy Award

winners and encourage everyone to support the artists

and brands that have dedicated their time to a pursuit

Aaron Moreno established his brand ‘Retroband‘ for one reason – to make the toys he wished

he had when growing up. An example of artistic DIY fandom that would be close to many a

pop culturalist’s heart.

Spending most of the 90's traveling the globe as a muralist and theatrical designer, Jason joined

MTV's Special Events department in 1997 as a freelance designer. Jason helped design
